18.01.2022 TransCom is welcoming in the New Year. Here is our first release for 2021, Invader by Alieonix... https://transcom.bandcamp.com/album/invader-single

18.01.2022 It has been a very forgettable year, but we’re optimistic about a terrific 2021 full of new releases, BNE Archive phase 2, another Brisbane Indie Label market day, and much more! We’ve done a deep dive into our storage and found that we’re down to our last few copies of the amazing BNE book, so we’re making these final copies available as a special Christmas 2020 deal for our Australian fans @ only $50 per book (normally $75), and because we also found a hidden stash of par...ticular (and rare) Trans:Com CD titles you can choose any 2 CDs from the available selection at no extra cost. Awesome value particularly if you’re on Secret Santa duties! Click here to access the special order form, and have a wonderful Christmas full of music, friends and family: https://trans-com.github.io/bneorder.htm

16.01.2022 BNE Archive spotlight on Jandy Rainbow: H.2.Oscillate (Deluxe) The 3rd of four releases in Phase 1 of the BNE Archive, H.2.Oscillate was originally released in 2001 through Soundhive and has been impossible to find for nearly 20 years. This remarkable album was the culmination of two challenging years in the studio for Jandy Rainbow; who is such an essential part of the Brisbane techno underground. H.2.Oscillate is a deep and beautiful journey through a subaquatic-like world ...of synthesis, and the album contains smooth tribal elements infused with house, trance, and techno; always transfused in Jandy’s unique way. Every phat and squelchy bassline on the album was programmed from vintage analogue synths including the Roland SH09 and a Devilfish-modded TB303. H.2.Oscillate was a project on the transformative, power of the element. Towards the end, just releasing the finished project became an unspeakable challenge. Without the assistance of my friend Ande, it may never even have been mixed! Jandy Rainbow, 2020 This new expanded edition also includes two rare bonus Jandy Rainbow tracks from the legendary Dragonflight 2 and 4ZZZ Cybernana compilations of the period. https://transcom.bandcamp.com/album/h-2-oscillate-deluxe

13.01.2022 BNE Archive spotlight on The Kilgore Trout Combustion: Pure Bunk The 4th of four releases in Phase 1 of the BNE Archive: Andy Bagley and Michael Nolan - aka The Kilgore Trout Combustion - released their debut album "Pure Bunk", on cassette, in 1991; in that youthful glory phase of an arty band’s existence, when they anticipated great and widespread success while paradoxically expecting to alienate people with clever outsiderness. With their ‘musical bulkheads blown’ by the li...kes of Nitzer Ebb and Skinny Puppy, they applied modern composition techniques to industrial music; combining an idiosyncratic framework of discordant and sometimes gear-shifting rhythms, with hoarse vocals gilded with heavy sarcasm and word experimentation. Performing such stuff live was a strong-willed undertaking in the Brisbane music scene of the late ’80s and early ’90s. Particularly in hot pants. The pubs weren’t receptive, and frankly the sound engineers didn‘t know what to do with "a band" that required perhaps 16 DIs for the banks of synths with a well separated sound. They found their place instead deeper in the underground. "Imagine these songs delivered at staggering volume, frequently sounding like there were two or three of them playing over each at once, which was sometimes the acoustic result of playing cavernous rooms to a few people keeping themselves to the margins for reasons of eardrum protection and cool. I can’t express enough how I adore these patchy memories." Michael Nolan, 2020. For Trans:Com - long-time admirers & supporters of this band which pulled an Icehouse by taking their debut album title as their later band name - it is a deep joy to re-release this incredible (and incredibly important) set of industrial electronica from Brisbane’s original masters of the genre. This re-release include a wonderful new PDF booklet produced by the band. https://transcom.bandcamp.com/album/pure-bunk

13.01.2022 A bit of trivia: our label name stems from the Joy Division track Transmission, with 'Communications' added because that's what their label did in calling itself Factory Communications (and we always wanted to be the Factory of Brisbane). Anyway here at Trans:Com we're remembering Ian Curtis and Joy Division. Ian took his own life 40 years ago this month, with the rest of the band becoming New Order shortly afterwards in order to continue; leaving behind an eternal legacy, f...orever set in "marble and stone". For Dennis in particular, it remains a tremendous honour to have been invited to author their official discography at http://joydivisionofficial.com ...a very small part in the story. Even better, one of our all-stars Andrew Grennan (from Sphere) has been recording a bunch of guitar requests during Covid, with the latest being a wonderful rendition of Joy Division's last-ever song Ceremony which became New Order's first.
