22.01.2022 The team at Litchfield Vet Hospital are advising all our clients that we are still currently operating as normal. We as a clinic are implementing some precautions to protect our staff and clients with the current Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic. We have increased the frequency of clinic disinfection and have a hand sanitiser station at reception and hand soaps in our consultation rooms. We ask all clients entering and exiting the clinic to please sanitise or wash thei...r hands. Social distancing rules- we please ask that there will be no hand shakes, hugs or physical contact during this time. We will have a limit on the amount of people present in our waiting room whilst you wait for your appointment. If we are at capacity we will kindly ask that you can wait in your car, we will call you when the vet is ready to see you and your pet inside. Again social distancing required is at least 1.5m between people. The less foot traffic we have in clinic the better. If you have been in any way unwell, please call us. We may be able to assist with a phone consultation or advice from our nursing team, or alternatively have your beloved pet dropped to the clinic instead for assessment. Likewise if you have travelled from overseas in the last 14 days , are self isolating or you have been in contact with someone with the virus, we ask that you call us prior so we can make appropriate arrangements to look after your pet. We kindly ask that only ONE person attend the clinic with the pet unless otherwise arranged under certain circumstances. We are more than happy to provide information to other members of the family involved via speaker phone during consultation/ pet hospital stays. There is a possibility of stricter restrictions coming into play if the virus continues to spread, so we ask that you have an appropriate supply of your pets current long term medications , parasite preventatives, prescription diets etc. Please call ahead to organise these products to help minimise waiting room numbers. We will continue to update everyone on the current situation if it eventuates further. So please be patient with us during this uncertain time. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact us and chat to our reception/nursing team on (08) 89832838. The Litchfield Team

16.01.2022 Covid-19 Pandemic Update Firstly we would like to say a massive thankyou to everyone for their patience with our current protocols in place at the clinic! It’s been a tough month with pandemic restrictions and the team really do appreciate everyone being understanding during this time! We have great news though! Our doors are once again open for our clients to come on in with their pets! We still have some rules in place whilst the NT begins to return to normal! ... Social distancing rules still apply! 1.5m must be kept between clients and our staff members at all times. Please wash/ sanitise your hands when entering and exiting the clinic. Only 1 person is to be with their pet in the clinic to adhere to social distancing rules. If the clinic is at capacity we will kindly ask you to wait in your car or under the verandah until we can get you and your pet inside to see the team. To limit foot traffic, if you require medications, food pickups, parasite control etc please phone ahead to the clinic and preorder what you need so the team can have it ready to go. You can also prepay over the phone to save time. Thankyou again for understanding our protocols and continuing to support us during the difficult time The Litchfield Team and Miss Puss!

02.01.2022 OH DEER, PLEASE DON'T SHARE THE XMAS CHEER! Although it is tempting to include your furry friends in the Christmas feasts and festivities, we do advise to not feed your pets anything off the Christmas lunch/dinner table! Some food items can be poisonous or can cause stomach upsets and no one wants an emergency vet visit! Instead buy them a nice raw bone to chew on or other tasty dog/cat treats.

01.01.2022 LEAVING 2018 WITH A BANG! New Years Eve celebrations will be upon us very shortly! Have you got a plan of attack ready for your furry friends come New Years night? Are your pets microchip and ID tags up to date? If not now is the time to do it! We hate nothing more than having stray animals come to the clinic and we are unable to reunite them because of old contact details present on microchips. Fireworks are not fun for our pets so make sure they are safe, inside and have plenty of things to distract them! Put the TV or radio on to block out any noise and close all windows and curtains to block out any nearby flashes. We wish everyone a happy and safe New Years!

01.01.2022 It’s Doggone Hot! Sorry guys we’ve been a bit on the quiet side for a while, we’ve certainly been a busy little clinic the last 4+ months! The team are seeing a few heat stress cases lately, and would like to pre warn owners on potential signs (below) and to not delay if you suspect your pet is suffering from heat stress. This is a medical emergency and your pet should be taken to a vet clinic straight away for treatment.
