25.01.2022 Check out our fabulous student work this morning! One of our Wednesday students has been working on a ‘text patterning’ based off Emily Rodda’s ‘Bob the Builder and the Elves’, one of our favourite books. In this story, Bob makes a potion to rid his house of an elf infestation. Today, our super creative student brought in ingredients and created instructions for a shrinking potion!

10.01.2022 Introducing Esmee! Esmee has been a tutor at Literacy for Life for 4 years. ‘One-on-one tuition is a lovely way to support students in their learning. 06.01.2022 The teaching approach that we use, called Scaffolding Literacy, is a hands-on, highly supportive, explicit method which teaches effective skills in all aspects of literacy. Here, Cath worked on a ‘transformation’ with one of our students, a key step in our teaching sequence. Transformations allow us to look at language closely, and ‘transform’ the language, removing it from and returning it to its original context. #literacyforlife #literacy #teachersofig #canberra #cbr #education
