25.01.2022 Writing and representing is all about conveying emotion. The starting questions for all writers are: What do I want to say? ... What do I want my reader to feel? What do I need to say and how in order to make my audience feel what I want them to feel? This is no easy task. How do we make an audience feel sad? How do we make an audience laugh? With bucketloads of creativity and boldness, writers must create characters who are both pitiful and honourable. Writers must create irony on the page. Writers must create contrast and problems, resistance and resolution. Take two emotions from this wheel and write about them. Can you make a reader feel the emotions you are writing about?

11.01.2022 One of the reasons we write is to achieve catharsis. To literally purge feelings from our body. To let the inside out. We forget this function of writing. The power of our own narratives and stories. Our need to make sense of the events that make up our own points of tension and growth. Catharsis is as an essential part of expressing, processing, and releasing emotional tension that's stored in the body. It’s why we like watching films and reading and why we cry, think abou...t our feelings and feel better. It’s why art matters. One way to introduce an element of catharsis into our own life is to do what Dr Habib Sadeghi calls part of the clarity cleanse. Wake up, write for 12 minutes. Be brutally honest. Burn it. Safely. Let it go. Give it a try. Build up your own sense of self. Make sense of your own narrative.
