23.01.2022 As we head into a heatwave with fire warnings returning, Lis Bastian from The Big Fix will be part of a Courtyard Picnic and Talk Panel at the Blue Mountains Cu...ltural Centre this Saturday 28 November. At 11am she'll be talking about Re-Designing the Future and the work being done by local residents who have been severely impacted by the fires over the last year - most importantly to rehydrate our landscapes. She'll talk about how one property survived the fires for a second time on the Darling Causeway and the exciting proposal for a Rainforest Conservancy at the Mounts ... as well as ways everyone can become involved in other World Heritage Regeneration programs. She'll be followed at 11.30am by Leanne Thompson speaking about the inspiring Capertee Hydrology Project. Lunch hampers will be available for a courtyard picnic and there will be live music and kids activities as well as planting sessions to help launch the Cultural Centre’s own rooftop bushtucker and veggie garden! You can also buy veges to take home from the Blue Mountains Food Coop tent or bring produce from your own backyard to swap with others at the Crop Swap tent. The event is free but bookings for all of the above are essential due to COVID and you can read more and book here: https://bit.ly/39kb4TO

13.01.2022 From Minister Ley: ''The recognition of Indigenous Cultural Heritage will be prioritised in upcoming assessments for the Commonwealth and National Heritage list...s. Nominations for both lists will open from 2 December to 25 February, and Minister for the Environment Sussan Ley has asked the Australian Heritage Council to prioritise Indigenous Cultural Heritage for the assessment period. Of the 118 sites on the National Heritage lista list that includes places such as the Parkes Observatory in New South Wales, Erawondoo Hill in Western Australia, Quinkan Country in Queensland and lesser-known gems such as Dirk Hartog’s Landing Site in Western Australia37 are currently recognised for their Indigenous culture and it is time to address that number, Minister Ley said. 12.01.2022 Great to see movement with LCC Transition Working Group Main report "A Case for Economic Change". Equally noting that a opportunity for the community to provide feedback to Lithgow City Council.

11.01.2022 We have waited for years, it is time to reserve the Gardens of Stone Proposal area now. The #destinationpagodabusinessplan can open the door to an untapped asset and protect at the same time.

01.01.2022 New gas is a backward step for Australian clean energy! It’s time to hold the decision-makers in the big energy companies to account for the damage they do to ...our communities and climate. We’ve brought together a brand new team of corporate lawyers laser-focused on holding companies and their directors to account. But these are huge companies with enormous resources behind them. Can you help us hold energy giants to account?
