24.01.2022 For those not able to get to Bathurst parkrun tomorrow there will be a run up hassans to hassans lookout from the old parkrun start area at about 7:45am. There will be walkers as well.

24.01.2022 All I can say is it was hot.. We had parkrun visitors, tourists, kids under 11, first timers and a dog today. We missed out on a pram. So I will bring the pram next week.... One parkrun tourist was there before me at 7am... nice and early.. Thanks to all our volunteers today for putting in a good effort in the heat.. Sorry for the confusion late in the week when I posted for more volunteers. Almost All good for next week. Do we have someone that wants to try Run Director next week? We had new first time local parkrunners today. We hope you enjoyed your morning. Remember to arrive early enough to park near the start area. 23.01.2022 Love a good parkrun picture... Here is a few more from Matt Trounce

22.01.2022 Hi parkrunners. GET A TICKET AND COME AND JOIN IN. We all like a run. Just letting you know there is a local run on this weekend (Sunday) and it is run by Tony Williams from Blue Mountains Fitness. Profits will go to Clarence/Dargan rural fire brigade. See all of you there....

22.01.2022 Tomorrow is Saturday and that means parkrun day.... It might be a little wet but lets support the volunteers who will be out in the rain all morning. See you in the morning if you want a run or a walk... If you have any questions-... [email protected] See more

22.01.2022 Lost and homeless.... Thats right, out timing token number 38 seems to be lost and we need to find it. We have not lost a token in so long.. Two saturdays ago it was the finishing position of our tail walker but this week number 38 is missing. Did you see it or take it home by accident this week.... We would like number 38 to come back and join the rest of his friends. I would like to give you a picture of number 38 but I cant. See more

22.01.2022 IWD at parkrun was well represented with purple shirts. We Hope you all enjoyed your parkrun today ladies. A good crowd of 40 people with a few visitors, and two of those visitors came all the way from Germany. Missing a few runners/walkers who may have been resting up for the Orange running festival tomorrow.... Good luck to you all. Hope to see you all next week with some big stories from Orange... Results are done but you may see a little difference in your time or place due to my poor concentration and doing too many things at once this morning. Im sorry about that. If you would like something changed please message me and I will see if its possible. Thanks to those that helped this morning volunteering and keeping parkrun going. Thanks.... Always need volunteers if you have time.... Try to remember where the best place for you to park your car is based on when you would like to leave parkrun. 21.01.2022 Lithgow parkrun CANCELLED. So after getting off to what we think was a good start for parkrun this year, we hope you have enjoyed being back at parkrun, but I have a little bit of bad news. The parkrun location is being used by the pony club this week so we have to CANCEL parkeun Lithgow this week, 16/1/2021. Sorry about that.... We thank the pony club for letting us use the grounds and we will be back next week. So take it as a chance to be a parkrun tourist and visit another parkrun. Send us some pictures and I will post them after the event on Saturday morning. Lithgow parkrun (ED) Paul...

21.01.2022 Well it was wet without question. Will we cancel? No way, we expected to see parkrunners and we did. We had 19 people who wanted to chase a little exercise and good health even in the rain.... glad you all came. A big thanks to the volunteers this week that make our parkrun possible especially in the rain. ... Congratulations to Nicole Purdon who was our outright first finisher today in this rain. And I might say In not a bad time in the wet... Can I add to that a big Happy Birthday to Nicole purdon from all of us at parkrun.. Followed closely by our first male parkrun finisher, Adam Laughton who visits us regularly..... We had a couple of tourists today. Steven Garamy from Sydney and Mark Fiander from Dubbo. Steven came to visit us and enjoy a day in the mountains.. Mark came looking for his L in his parkrun alphabet. 4 hour trip to pick up an L and we did talk about cancelling. Glad we didnt. One of our regulars Shane Keech is running in the New Zealand in the Tarawera Ultra marathon if you want to keep an eye on him. Cheer him on.... Good luck from Lithgow parkrun. Thanks to everybody that came out today to run and walk, our volunteers would have been board without you. Not too many pictures today sorry due to the rain, Oh and I forgot to charge my phone. LoL. 20.01.2022 BAD NEWS PARKRUN is CANCELLED until further notice. parkrun will be CANCELLED for the month of March and is currently expected to include the month of April. This notification has come to me this morning from parkrun head office.... You should all receive a notification about this to your parkrun email address. parkrun have concerns with COVID-19 and have decided the best course of action is to cancel parkruns until further notice. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me through our FB page or [email protected] (Paul- Lithgow parkrun Event Director)

20.01.2022 Morning Lithgow parkrunners. Do you need a rest, recovering from an injury or tapering, join parkrun this week as a volunteer. We are still looking for a couple of volunteers to help Ross out this weekend.

19.01.2022 One day until parkrun. YES it is still on this week. Please decide for yourself if you would like to be at parkrun this week. If you have flu like symptoms, it is in everybodys interest that you might want to take the week off.... We are how ever welcoming everybody to parkrun for another run or walk or just a chat to take your mind of your weeks events and breath some clean air and beautiful bushland surroundings. We still need a few volunteers this week. After a little confusion last week, which did include me, we need to be sure some volunteer roles are filled so people where possible are not doing two jobs on the same day. All volunteer jobs are easy, and you will sweat much less than running, so if you feel like an easy week at parkrun then jump right into a volunteer spot. I will help you learn any volunteer position in just a few minutes. I will try to stay back after parkrun for the next few weeks for those who might like to join us in learning how to use a defibrillator. See you all on Saturday I hope and bring a friend......

19.01.2022 Do we have anybody looking for a volunteer role tomorrow, like time keeper or photographer?? Thanks..

19.01.2022 A little wet today but i noticed everybody smiling. Come and join us in the rain next time. My pictures are not as good as usual and I may have missed a few people due to the rain and I forgot to charge my battery. Sorry.

18.01.2022 On a happier note Parkrun is hopefully not too far away from starting back up. The time line was set, parkruns are closed till the end of June and there would be two weeks notice to start up once this can happen. Simple calculation is that there is no start before the middle of July.... So in the mean time we are now allowed to run together in small groups, (using social distancing) as we do not need to hold hands while we run I can not see why we can not get back into a little bit of running. Please only come along if you are happy with the arrangements and the position our state is in regarding COVID-19. I am suggesting a run Saturday morning at a time to be fixed at Sheedy gully/Hassans walls, in that area. If you are interested please let me know. This is not a parkrun or at parkrun time or in the exact parkrun location. I hope everybody is well and we hope to see you all as soon as we can. Lithgow parkrun (ED)

17.01.2022 So its parkrun time in Tamworth. Guess I am a little early..

16.01.2022 A few extra pictures from Grant Sullivan who volunteered at parkrun last Saturday as a marshal on his way home after completing a night shift.

16.01.2022 Great to see the heavens open up with some much needed rain for a most enjoyable and rewarding Lithgow parkrun (event#148)! Huge thanks to todays Run Director Paul and his team of friendly volunteers making my 50th different parkrun touristing location one to remember! And whilst I was pleased with a parkrun touristing commute PB of 155km (home parkrun Kamay in Sydney), I had to settle for silver to Mark from Dubbo (250km) !

15.01.2022 Well I am away and I am not sure how the weather was but I hope you all enjoyed your parkrun. Please let me know if you finished 28,29 or 30th position so I can sort it out. If you were a volunteer today, thanks for helping. A last minute chase for volunteers may have meant I did not get back to you or see you reply or post but thanks to all the volunteers for helping out today. I will add to the run report when I get some more information..... Results are below- https://results-service.parkrun.com//eventJournoReportHTML

15.01.2022 Just a reminder to all parkrunners still suffering from a lack of parkruns this year. LoL Bathurst parkrun will be having an additional parkrun (other than your regular Saturday) on New Years morning, if you can get out of bed. LoL PS. There are no double new year day parkruns permitted this year, so it’s just one extra on New years day.... Enjoy your parkruns everybody. Where to find a new year day run. Parkrun Christmas compendium

15.01.2022 Help, can you help, its everybodys parkrun. We still need- Time keepertokenstail walker So we can still have parkrun but we may not be able to supply you with a time this week. Send us a message here or [email protected] -... Still need a couple of volunteers for tomorrow 25/1/2020 so parkrun can go ahead. We can not leave all the volunteer roles to just a couple of people. Im away this week so Please help Violet out this week as it is her first time as a Run Director(RD) Im back next week, see you all then and have a great parkrun Saturday morning... See more

14.01.2022 Congratulations to Patricia Ciosmak from all of us at Lithgow parkrun on completing her 50th parkrun and on our 3rd birthday.

14.01.2022 parkrun leap year is over for another 28 years... A good crowd of 30 plus parkrunners Congratulations to Jimmy Murray completing his 50th parkrun today...... A big well done to Michael Mjadwesch finishing his parkrun this week with an improvement of about 14 minutes. A big thanks to our volunteers today. Dont forget to jump on the roster if you have a chance. We all nearly had a time of 59:59 without our time keeper spot being filled. Thanks to Siobhan McKinney for time keeping and letting me have a run today. We had lots of visitors and tourists today. We hope you enjoyed our parkrun course here in Lithgow. International Womens Day next week at parkrun so try to wear purple. Results below- https://results-service.parkrun.com//eventJournoReportHTML

14.01.2022 Morning Lithgow parkrunners. You may have already heard but parkrun HQ have made the decision to cancel parkrun until the end of May based on the current social isolation requirements that have been put in place due to COVID-19. I hope you are all getting out for some running and exercise.

13.01.2022 Hi Lithgow parkrunners. I am arranging a run in or around blackheath on Saturday morning. Please share this post with others. I am meeting up with John Newton, our parkrun regional ambassador.... If you would like to join us please feel free to do so. Contact me through the Lithgow parkrun messenger page or call me if you have my number and come and join us. We will need to keep in mind the COVID restrictions that are in place. Please only come along if you are well and will not create a risk to others. I am not your mum, I can not tell you to stay home, it’s up to you to know if you are well or not and clear of any chance of having contacted COVID. We can discuss the time and Location and a run from10 to 20 kms. Happy for anyone to put forward a run course for the morning. I will have first aid kit and a snake bite kit. Bring anything with you that you need, including water unless you like drinking from the creek. It would be great to see a few people come out for a run. Paul.....

12.01.2022 Hi Lithgow parkrunners and everybody else following this page. We hope you are all staying healthy, safe and keeping fit. Looking for someone to run with, just yell out and I am sure someone will join you. Two in a group? Maybe more With that 1.5m + space ...between each other. Let us know if you are lonely, isolated or need any one to talk to. You can join the Lithgow parkrun messenger group any time. If your out in this beautiful bush, getting in a run or a walk, post up a picture for us all to enjoy. In no time at all I hope to see you all back at parkrun.

Did not realise this would be a big issue. I have people who like our page and I hope you all enjoy our small but lovely parkrun. But, but, but If your profile says look at my use pictures or look at my porn site wether you like parkrun or not you will be removed. Nobody will be removed even if you have never been to our parkrun but you like to just keep up with what we get up to, but if I click your profile and read these sorts of things I have to remove you. Sorry, NOT.....

05.01.2022 Still looking for a couple of volunteers for this weekend. Barcode scanner - marshal x 2 and maybe a photographer. Most important is someone to help Ross set up and pack up as I normally do this with Ross but I am away. This person would need to meet Ross at a house near parkrun and help transport the gear to parkrun and back again after the event. ... Ross knows the procedure but no longer has a car to get around. Let me know if this spot suits you while I am away. Thanks from Paul and Lithgow parkrun. See more

04.01.2022 Some pictures from Violet of this Mornings parkrun 14/3/2020.

03.01.2022 Afternoon parkrunners. So it looks like parkrun will not be starting any earlier than mid November, as per the pre start times etc when it is possible for parkrun to restart and with the news of new COVID 19 cases today I expect a further delay to the start. If you would like to join a runners and walkers group I have set up on Facebook to get us a little ready for parkrun when it restarts, go to- Lithgow RAW (runners and walkers)... Join the group and be ready for a run or a walk. I will post soon to get us started. The idea is to have seperate running and walking events. Hope to see all of you somewhere on one of the runs or walks. COVID 19 rules and restrictions will be in place as per the current requirements.

03.01.2022 An important issue was bought to my attention today- If you choose to park in the open field area near the start line which is available to everyone then you can not drive out until the tail walker has come up past the open field area and are on their way to complete the last half lap at the tree turn around point. If we can not stick to this request then we will not be able to park near the start line. Please ask me if you have any questions about this. (Event Director)... Another parkrun complete and after waiting there is not much to report accept that the number of people is slowly growing. 39 parkrun participants running and walking today so thats not bad. Lets get it to a regular 50 ASAP. We hope you all enjoyed your parkrun today and see you all next week. Results below- https://results-service.parkrun.com//eventJournoReportHTML

03.01.2022 parkrun is just one work day away. We have ended up with two tail walkers but no bar code scanner and we need two marshals. Our car park marshal needs to arrive early at about 7:45 to help with parking directions. Let me know if you are available to volunteer. Thanks from parkrun...

02.01.2022 Morning parkrunners. By this time of the morning on any other Saturday you would be waiting for your results to come through. It should not be long we all hope.... Officially NO parkruns in May and we all hold our breath for future news. Remembering we should not rush getting back in groups but you can still enjoy your own running/walking with social distancing in mind. We will be sure to let everybody know when we will be back. Im sure you will all be ready to go. Its been so long I am worried the bush has reclaimed our course. Around the end of May I will give the course a well overdue mowing over. I hope to have a little time to tidy up the toilet block as well which is probably a small zoo by now. When we are back at parkrun Lithgow we will encourage where possible social distancing (we can do this) and hygiene. So maybe for a while there will be no high fives but encouragement can come in all sorts of ways. Can I ask during our start up period, which we all hope will be here soon, that for a few months at this stage we all have a good hard think about your own health and purpose for being at parkrun each Saturday. So if your not feeling well any week then maybe parkrun is not for you that week. Another Saturday will be here just a week later. I hope you are all able to get some form of exercise into your life and before you know it those 5 km sessions will be on again every Saturday morning. So dust of those runners, wash the moth ball smell out of your Lycra and charge your watches. The volunteer vests will be all washed and waiting for their Saturday morning out. A few pictures just to remind you of what parkrun is because its been a while. (Lithgow parkrun ED)

01.01.2022 What do you do when State Championships are called off you come first at Parkrun with a PB. Well done Beau

01.01.2022 Well its here, a leap year. Its also our 150th parkrun in Lithgow. How lucky are we that parkrun day will fall on leap year day. Last parkrun leap year day for the next 28 years. Come and join us this Saturday at 8am for a parkrun on such a special and rare day (at the Lithgow pony club grounds, please arrive around 7:45)
