25.01.2022 A Big Week for Little Learners This week both the Tuesday and Friday Little Learners amazed their teachers with how ready they are for school. From all their awesome drawings of super bears, to the way they play together on the equipment. 25.01.2022 PBL Awards Day - Wednesday 9 September The students have been working extremely hard and are delighted to find out they have filled the Gotcha goanna container to the line again. This means another Rewards Day. So get your crazy socks ready for an action filled day, followed by a relaxing movie afternoon. Well done students!

24.01.2022 Supporting Legacy Bailey has saved his his pocket money to buy this little Air Marshall bear. He spotted him in the playground as the leaders were selling the Legacy items for 2020. Thank you Bailey for being so caring and we are sure this little bear will be well looked after. Thank you also to all the other students and staff who supported Legacy 2020.

24.01.2022 Best Olympics Ever Famously known as the best Olympics ever, today marks 20 years since the official opening of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The preparations and the Games themselves ran smoothly with the opening ceremony paying tribute to our Australian heritage and contributions of the Aboriginal peoples of this continent. Boasting our largest team to represent the games, many memorable moments were made including Cathy Freeman winning Gold in 400m Athletics and our Au...stralian Mens Swimming Team winning Gold in the 4x100m relay. 22.01.2022 Wallace loves Australia Wallace are learning about all the wonderful things Australia has to give us. 18.01.2022 Mummify an Apple! From tasty treats to wrinkly mummies. Bowenfels are learning about Egypt and mummifications. In learning about the mummification process, they mummified apples. The apple was peeled, carved and placed in salt and baking soda for about a week. This combination worked like the natron salts that the mummies were placed in, drawing the fluids out, thus "mummifying" the apple. (The mummies were packed in salt for 70 days, just a bit longer than these apples.) T...hey cant wait to check out the transformation of their apples and share their results with you. 17.01.2022 PBL Rewards Day The students have been working extremely hard and were delighted to enjoy their rewards day on Thursday. The students got to participate in a Crazy hair and enjoy some fun games which were run by the Stage 3 students, followed by a relaxing movie afternoon. Well done students!

12.01.2022 Integrating Science into our Australia Unit of Work Kindergarten are very excited because today we are participating in a live scuba dive in Sydney by the Abyss Project for National Science Week. We get to take a first hand look under the ocean at over 130 species of fish, coral, plants and the human impacts on our marine life. 11.01.2022 Stage 3 Awards Assembly Lithgow Public school held their Stage 3 awards assembly today. It has been a long time coming due to Covid, and as such we unfortunately couldn’t have any families attend to applaud the children on their achievements. Some of our students looked a little different today dressed up in their Harry Potter outfits for Chifley’s special day. Congratulations to everyone who received an award.

10.01.2022 Wallace Flight Today Captain Kirk And Flight Attendant Andrea took the students in Wallace on a virtual plane trip around Australia. Fun was had by all and everyone enjoyed the light refreshments provided on the plane. There was a bit of turbulence whilst landing but luckily everyone had their seatbelts on. 08.01.2022 Spring is here! Year 6 girls, Angel and Shay-Lee participate in a daily wellbeing program with Angie. Theyre celebrating the beginning of Spring with some gardening. They have decorated pots and planted cute little succulents. Were excited to watch them as they grow.

07.01.2022 Authors at Work Waratahs are busy publishing personal narratives this week. This process involves editing our writing for spelling, punctuation and meaning. Then we try to make our writing even better by adding more interesting words and more detail. It provides a fully integrated framework of lessons that are designed to help support students with their social, emotional and academic success. 03.01.2022 Painting with Ochre Today Stage 2 kids enjoyed some traditional Indigenous hand painting with ochre. The children sprayed the ochre over their hands and then decorated a print using traditional Aboriginal symbols that related to them personally.
