22.01.2022 Feeding time on the Cooks River, Sydney.

21.01.2022 A wet and wild day couldnt dampen our spirits as we unveiled the new cigarette butt voting ballot box at Alex Surf Club today. Cigarette butts are the number o...ne littered item in the world, and were working hard to change that across the Sunshine Coast. Huge thanks to Alex Surf Club. Cleanwater Group and Sunshine Coast Council for supporting our ambition to make this place we love litter free. #tenlittlepieces #hangontoyourbutts #thebeachisnotanashtray #cigarette #litter #solvedifferent #5gyresambassador #kicktheflick #binyourbutts #votewithyourbutt #thinkgloballyactlocally #cleanupaustralia #unep #gpml #togetherwecan See more

21.01.2022 Its amazing, Ive watched my bees create and store honey solely for the benefit of future generations. Ive seen subsequent generations cherish that gift and ...because they themselves dont need it, they too store it for future generations. They have honey stored in there that was there before i got them, it has outlasted every single bee that produced it including the queen that produced the bees that produced it! Humans used to act in a similar fashion. We started creating things that wouldnt even be finished in a lifetime, sometimes even multiple lifetimes, so that the children of the future could enjoy them. Wed look after our land trying to put in more than we take. Wed hunt and gather, but leave enough so the population wouldnt suffer. But now it seems that all too often, we disregard the future in the name of short term gain, not only reducing the yield for them, but often taking it away entirely. Its time we start treating the people of the future as people, we need to consider them in everything we do and consider THEIR human rights as much as we consider our own. We need to build an incredible future even though well never be there to see it. Plant the tree today so your grandkids can enjoy the shade it provides. Dont be a selfish prick. <3

19.01.2022 Brilliant idea. Lets get one on every beach. ""Goby loves plastic. Please feed him" Lets change the World together.

18.01.2022 Pulled up at Dohles Rocks to find this pile dumped from some grubs ash tray. The bin was just metres away, but i guess letting the rain wash it into the ocean was a better idea? I disagree, so I picked them up for you.

18.01.2022 Occasionally when its safe to do so, Ill pull over on the side of the road to pick up a bottle or two. This morning Im glad I did because I found this incredible example of upcycling, somebody with an incredible grasp on engineering managed to turn a water bottle into a water pourer using a small length of hose. This bottle gives of a strong floral, yet smokey aroma so I can deduct that it has been used on a beautiful flowery garden, perhaps close to a BBQ.... Props to whoever embraced the "reuse" in "reduce, reuse, recycle", but I suggest next time youre done watering the garden, cash in your bottle for your well deserved 10 cents <3

17.01.2022 these are so good. The pouches are edible and biodegradable if you dont want to swallow it

09.01.2022 MOSTLY INTACT AFTER 30-40 YEARS Recognise this? A clean-up crew found this single-use plastic bag in 8m of water at Bulcock Beach, Caloundra. Sunshine Coas...t Clean Up Divers organiser Elliot Peters got in touch with KFC to find out how old the bag was, and was stunned by the fast food chains answer. They said judging by the logo it would be [from the] 70s-80s. While it doesnt look too intact in the image, it was almost fully intact when it was discovered underwater, half full of silt and tangled in rocks, Elliot said. Its pretty incredible it survived and stayed intact that long. Also weve been diving for a while there and only found it that time. The volunteer dive group hit the water at Bulcock Beach once a month, removing mostly fishing debris from the water. We usually pick up 1-2km of fishing line from there each month, Elliot said. It is a lot and its not real fun to sort either. Its like cob webs. Its crazy. Elliot and his wife started the volunteer group about 18 months ago, and he said over that time the 50 volunteers involved have collected more than 500kg of debris. When I started diving it was mainly on reefs, and the reefs around here on the Sunshine Coast are very clean, so I hadnt thought about doing clean-ups, he said. Then I started diving in the rivers and theres so much junk. You cant go past it. As scuba divers we were uniquely placed to get down there and clean up. Elliot Peters

04.01.2022 OMG! Envirobank Recycling at Narangba Valley Tavern is completely full from the weekend! So full the doors dont shut! This is an incredible response and amazing to know that all of these containers will be recycled instead of potentially heading to landfill or littering our environment. Happy as. <3

04.01.2022 Dont litter. Print file available on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/obviousplant

03.01.2022 Container haul from the lake, just one small area and there were others I could not reach. Lots of other rubbish, but these are the ones I was able to cash in ;)

03.01.2022 There is enough plastic in the ocean without single use promotional gimmicks designed by irresponsible companies.

02.01.2022 I am STOKED that bottle recycling is now available in QLD! If you cbf taking your bottles in and live in the Narangba/Burpengary area, shoot me a message then leave your bottles at your front door/bins and Ill come grab them! The fact they are obligated to recycle the containers received is a massive win for our environment!
