23.01.2022 Fear of COVID-19 disease is causing people to stay away from hitherto congested, always poorly ventilated, lift-access CBD car parks and Westfield shopping centres. Theres been a probably permanent shift FROM shopping centres and the CBD TO neighbourhood shopping strips such as ours in Latrobe Terrace, Paddington. Moreover, people are choosing books to help beat the boredom of self-isolation. ... We are selling more books and have increased our stock levels accordingly. Weve got rid of our no-longer-necessary Lonely Planet travel guide range and added three more book cases of childrens books, three more book cases of adult fiction. Because many of us are feeling immediate economic pain right now, and because we all want to minimise our contact with the outside world, we at Little Bird Bookshop have slashed our margins on purchases of three or more books to give you, we believe, the lowest prices of any Australian terrestrial bookshop: currently 15 per cent discount on three or more items. Lastly, weve decided to put photographs of our stock on this page on a regular basis so you can browse remotely then order over the phone and collect at the kerbside. Phone us on 0439 019 067 if you have any questions. And now for an unrelated animal video: this is a male ringtail possum thats taken up residence behind a friends balcony door.

07.01.2022 Yesterday we closed slightly earlier than usual and spent time with a little pied cormorant, an eastern water dragon, an Australian white ibis, and an Australian wood duck in the botanical gardens at Mt Coot-tha. During this period of social distancing, regular Little Bird customers are welcome to borrow a camera (Canon 5D Mark IV), lens (400mm) and tripod free of charge if you fancy doing a bit of wildlife photography.
