25.01.2022 Teaching empathy by letting kids look after animals and plants in Bush Kindergartens and Nature Play focused schools is becoming more popular in Australian educ...ation. This article on teaching empathy in Denmark takes the concept a step further. An empathy lesson once a week has featured in the national curriculum since 1993. Students discuss their problems during the class and together try 'to find a solution based on real listening and understanding.' 21.01.2022 If you're a parent suddenly teaching your kids at home, or an educator, these great ideas by Birdwings Forest School might just inspire you to take the learning... outside to a secluded local area. Learning outside increases kids' engagement and decreases their stress (a great step towards a more harmonious classroom!) while more outside time gives us all a chance to enjoy some fresh air and more incidental movement throughout the day. Remember to choose a spot where you can safely keep your distance from others, whether its your garden or a local park, and have fun learning outside together!
