04.01.2022 I need to write this post today and it’s made me a little sad inside, I had a customer named Shane come into my shop patiently wait till I came out of the bathroom to politely ask if he could buy a can of coke but he only had $1.25. Shane has been here before he’s homeless and an addict telling me he just got out of jail after 5 months. He had the same clothes on the last time I saw him. He has been released back into society with the same thing he left it nothing I gave h...im a bottle of coke and his money back which he then donated to my wildlife collection. he went and sat on the nature strip as clearly he had no where else to go. I then made him up a roll for breakfast and water and left over chocolates and a sweet treat. He was so grateful and appreciative. My thought is in this day why has he been released back out with nothing what chance does he have at achieving a better future, his comment was he’s glad it’s him who is suffering rather than anyone else he knows I know drugs are a choice and a bad choice most times but what choice does he now have.
