24.01.2022 (from shan) When I go back home and clear out my crap in storage I find just that. Crap in storage. Richard Weinstein, when he did the same, did not. MARABASTAD 1988 is a beautiful exhibition of the stack of stills that Richard found in his possession, from his early years as a stills photographer in South Africa. I went to his opening last Saturday night (it's part of the Head On photo festival). It was beautiful stuff, touching stuff, it felt like honesty and trust and sadn...ess and joy all mixed together. I love eyes and faces. They talk to me and make me feel stuff... I used to think of Richard Weinstein as "the man who shot bill" (some will know what I mean and most will not) but he's somewhat more interesting even than this silly little sentence of mine. If you have a bit of time to drop by and see his stuff go and see it. It's on til the 31st.
