The Dandenong Council has decided after a recent review in the Indian Cultural Precinct, a new lower fee of $1 per hour (currently $1.80) effective in May. In addition, there has been a review of parking layouts in Foster and Mason Streets and line marking will be adjusted shortly to create a small number of extra on-street parking spaces. This was a major demand and has been accepted. My congrats to all traders and those who supported the movement. ALP, community members & many others made this possible with their support. Now the issue to to retain Little India as an icon to protect multiculturalism . Cheers!
16.01.2022 EXCLUSIVE AFRICAN CRAFTS IN LITTLE INDIA: This is a beautiful African crafts shop in Little India situated at 58, Foster Street, Dandenong. It sells hand crafted furniture (centre tables etc.) and many display and other items from Malawi (situated in Southern Africa). I had a look there and was impressed. Lot's of stuff for your X-Mas gifts. Have a look and support Africa!

09.01.2022 Little India traders have proved by their protest outside Parliament that they are not dumb and will not be intimidated by 'Places to Be' (Formally Vic Urban). The Planning Minister M. Guy needs to understand that this is a human problem and not just revitalization of Greater Dandenong. If redevelopment destroys someones social and economic life it is inhuman and cruel. It's a tragedy that the Indians supported Ted but he has abandoned them. This will have far reaching political ramifications.

03.01.2022 #SATnews When will the MASONIC HALL ART GALLERY (5 Mason St. Dandenong) be ready? I went to Little India and saw an old building amidst sky-high structures arou...nd. At the corner (almost) of Foster St. and Mason St. this actually is the Masonic Hall (made in 1923 & called the Dandenong Masonic Temple) is now a heritage structure and being redeveloped as the MASONIC HALL ART GALLERY, says Council info. The structure has been shut for a few years and no idea how many years it will take to take its new shape. The redevelopment plans are impressive (see below plan layout). As this place is almost in Little India, one wonders, if it could also have some Indian/South Asian flavor. The Dandenong Council took feedback on this project till 15 Dec 2017.
