17.01.2022 If you see something that is not OK, say something. This pertains to so many topics and the best gift you can give yourself is a lightened heart. I try and teach my kids to name the behaviour. When someone says something mean, dont react defensively and reward them with your attention.... Name the behaviour! You could teach them to say I am sorry that you felt the need to say mean things today, I hope tomorrow is a better day for you Agree with a bully and take their power, when they say your Ugly you say Yes I have this tiny red dot on my leg that is a little ugly, but I dont let it bother me When they say you smell I know, I washed my hair and it now smells like flowers And so on... Teach your kids to stand up for themselves in a polite and meaningful way. Physical violence is for people who cant think of anything smart to say. When something just makes no sense , be the person to ask for change. At my kids school the little prep kids had a tiniest shorts and their legs were freezing in Winter, I asked for a long pant option in Winter and was told no, this seemed so silly to me so I rallied 20 parents and attended a P&T meeting and walked out with long pants. If I had settled for no, then I would not have discovered that if handled politely and correctly I could get a Yes. Be the person that encourages change in the midst of unjust. Be a role model and a liberator and a really good person. Be somebody !

09.01.2022 Do your kids put their clothes in the laundry hamper? We seem to be caught in a mouse wheel of dirty laundry issues with my 10 year old son. Ill notice that his school clothes or pjs are missing and ask him where they are and start the search. ... They are never in the hamper, well find them shoved in places they should not be such as random cupboards , under the bed, behind his books in his bookshelf or we cant find them at all. When I ask him why he does this when he has a hamper in the bathroom he and his sister share and his answer is simple, Im lazy! Do you have a kid like this who is driving you crazy , comment below
