24.01.2022 Its spring and we look forward to seeing all the insects that come to visit us. Our native bee hive is buzzing. We already have a beautiful yellow butterfly pair visiting us daily. We hope to pop some butterfly friendly bushes into our garden soon too.

23.01.2022 Welcome to Eliza and Emma who are both on work placement at Little Lambs ELC. This continues to foster our strong relationship with Good Shepherd Lutheran College through their school based work program. The children are all delighted with the girls and we think we got the best end of the deal. Thank you Eliza and Emma and welcome to the team at Little Lambs.

22.01.2022 A day in the life of a Kinder Dog.

18.01.2022 Thanks to Tim the paramedic who came to visit us at Little Lambs today with a real ambulance to round off our term of community helpers. We are blessed to have so many parents at Little Lambs who have important jobs in our community and shared their time and resources with us.

18.01.2022 On Friday 6th of November we were so lucky to experience one of Noosa’s special icons. Nicki from Wildlife HQ at The Big Pineapple brought Violet the one year old Koala to meet all the little lambs. Everyone present felt extremely lucky to meet this unique creature. Did you know that there are 800 kinds of eucalyptus trees in Australia but Koalas only eat from 10-12 varieties, so plant a koala food gum tree in the parks and our gardens today to ensure they have food for the f...uture. The Koala or Gulla in gubbi gubbi language needs our help, we asked Nicki what we can do to ensure our koalas remain for future generations. She told us to ask mum and dad to drive carefully on the roads especially early in the morning. Keep dogs and cats inside and only walk dogs on a leash. And plant lots of koala food trees. Noosa Council, our staff are happy to volunteer to plant trees if needed to ensure there are Koalas in our children’s futures. Please Ring Wilvos if you see a koala in distress. Thank you Nicki for bringing Violet to meet us at Little Lambs. Parents there will be more photos on playground, our floor books and the family fb page Little Lambs ELC Families 2020

17.01.2022 We have had a big discussion in K2 about the Wallum around Noosa. Not all staff or children know what Wallum is though they may have walked though it. Take the time to get to know our local area and learn about the fabulous eco systems that surround us. Wallum is the name given to the coastal ecosystem in south east Queensland and northern New South Wales. Think banksias, melaleucas and wildflowers on shrubby, sometimes swampy, country fringing the coast. Wallum country is known for its resilience. The flourish of wildflowers on sandy, nutrient poor soils. Banksias hardened by coastal winds yet still in bloom. A triumph against adversity. Theres something in that

17.01.2022 This week Little Lambs celebrates 10 years. We are singing songs and reading stories including the number 10. What songs and stories do you know with the word 10?

12.01.2022 Classical music and clay sculptures this afternoon cleared out our nature baskets of twigs, pebbles and seed pods. If you can go for a treasure hunt for us and scrounge through your garden and nature walks in parks we would be grateful if you found some for us so we can run this activity again.

12.01.2022 Happy 8th Birthday to our favourite kindy dog The Adventures of Peri-Peri the Preschool Puppy. we hope you enjoyed your bone and pet show by the kids.

08.01.2022 Hi Noosa Community We were wondering if anyone is a friend or a relative of a printer or someone who works for a printing company as they often have great off cuts of paper and cardboard we could use for all our arts and crafts and wonderful creations instead of buying new paper. We would be happy to pick it up. Food for thought.

08.01.2022 Important dates and notices from the Good Shepherd sign.

08.01.2022 Meet 7year old Obi the endangered woma python. This non venomous python comes from Central Australia, but unfortunately numbers have dwindled due to its similarity to the venomous tiger snake. We learned that Obi likes to eat lizards and mice and lives to be 25. She will continue growing all of her life based on how much food she eats. She felt cold and we learned she has to lay in the sun or on a warm rock to warm up. The children enjoyed watching her forked tongue flick...ing especially when they learned she doesn’t smell through her nose but tastes the air on her tongue instead. Isn’t nature fascinating? 07.01.2022 Book week is postponed until later in October. But we can still enjoy books every day. Here is a great title with a different point of view. We are all a little different from each other but wouldnt it be great if everyone in the world was kind.

04.01.2022 We hope each and every dad, father and grandfather had a brilliant day and you were all deservedly spoiled with love. Thanks for all you do to raise our special little people.

04.01.2022 Everyone is safe here but we learned what a paramedic does thanks to Jonahs dad. And we got to see inside a real ambulance!

03.01.2022 Meet our second visitor from Wildlife HQ at The Big Pineapple, Milligan the Echidna. He is 27 years old!! Echidnas are monotreme marsupials and very special just like the platypus . They can live from 40-60 years wow! Echidnas are awake both day and night and only have tiny eyes so slow down on the roads and keep an eye out to keep them safe.

03.01.2022 Our last Wildlife HQ visitor was Xena the bearded dragon. This lovely old girl is 11-12 years old. Bearded dragons live to be 15-20 years old. The children experienced her rough scaly skin and the way she can flatten herself like a pancake.

03.01.2022 Wednesday September 2nd. Why not write a thank you note to your childs educators. They love notes and pictures from your children.
