03.01.2022 At Little Leaf Early Learning we believe every child is unique, capable and competent, and we value early childhood education as the foundation for their lifelong learning. Each child grows and learns at their own developmental level and comes from a family that have their own beliefs, values and cultures. As Early childhood educators we believe that it is our responsibility to acknowledge and respect this and to understand each child as a whole. Our high quality, engaging pr...ograms are then built in partnership with the children to support their individual developmental needs. Programs are made to encourage, guide, and extend on the child’s own initiated learning. Our goal is to promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child through playing, interacting and listening to children and their families. Play is the base of learning; play facilitates exploration, discovery, creativity and relationships. Children learn so much through just ‘being’ and here at Little Leaf Early Leaning we want to see them ‘being in the moment’ as much as possible. Nature play and the ‘educaring approach’ will guide our practices in supporting children’s play based development. We strive to challenge, nurture and respond effectively to all children and their sense of agency. This includes giving the children a voice; setting up high quality environments that extend on children’s ideas and thoughts; nurturing their emotions and supporting them to learn and respond appropriately to these emotions; working with families and outside agencies to ensure the best quality care and learning is given; and teaching children responsibility and life skills/habits that will support them in being respectful, resilient, responsible children and adults later in life.
