23.01.2022 The best looking spray tans are achieved by correct preparation and post care. Here are a few things you can do to ensure your spray tan is flawless for your event. PRE SPRAY TAN: 1. Any unwanted hair must be removed at least 24 hours before your appt. Removing hair right before a spray tan leaves the skin at a different pH and can cause irritation and an uneven tan. It is best to let the skin rebalance itself so the tan sits evenly.... 2. Exfoliate and shower! This is to be done 6 or more hours before your appt. The same rule applies as hair removal: the skin must balance itself after the dead skin cells have been exfoliated away. For morning sessions, exfoliate and shower the night before. For night sessions, exfoliate and shower the morning of. 3. During your shower, make sure all moisturisers, deodorants and oils are cleansed off your skin. Fresh skin = flawless tan. (Any residue from topical products can result in a green tan!) 4. Wear loose, dark clothing and slides to your appt. Any constricting clothing (this applies to bras as well) will leave marks and can cause the skin to sweat. We want dry and comfortable skin until your tan is ready to be washed off. POST CARE: 1. Avoid exercising and sweating. STAY AWAY FROM WATER! If the weather is looking gloomy, bring an umbrella to your appointment. 2. Best results are achieved when the spray tan is left on for 8 or more hours. 3. When you are ready for your first rinse after 8 hours, step into a luke warm shower for 1-2 minutes. DO NOT use soap, shampoo or loofahs during this rinse. You can use your hands to gently wash away the bronzed layer. After this initial rinse, step out of the shower and pat dry. Moisturise. You are now able to go about your normal routine! 4. IMPORTANT: Fresh tan and moisturiser go hand in hand. Hydrating your skin will keep your glowing tan looking fresh all week. Moisturise after every shower. Your tan will start to fade at 6-7 days. To prevent tan from coming off unevenly, you can start to exfoliate when you notice the fade. @_littleredbeauty uses @moroccantan for an always flawless finish
