23.01.2022 The children are loving sensory play in the coloured rice! They are hiding toys and finding them, letting the rice run through their fingers, tipping from one container to another and talking about the different colours. Such a fun activity ripe with so many learning opportunities

19.01.2022 Happy Valentines Day from all the little love bugs at Little School

19.01.2022 For the month of August we focused on animals at Little School. We talked about different types of animals, their habitats, what animals like to eat and how to look after animals. We pretended to be many different animals, imitating their movements and making animal noises. We danced to different animal songs such as do the monkey and baby shark which were both group favourites. We did many more activities including craft, interactive animal themed table and reading animal focused books. Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners Are curious and enthusiastic participants in their leaning.

19.01.2022 For the month of September we focused on transport at Little School. We found there are many ways to get from one place to another, we talked about different vehicles and practiced moving in different ways such as hopping, running and jumping to move around. We conducted a science experiment making a rocket out of a balloon, a straw and some string. We built our own vehicles, painted rockets, painted with toy cars to make tyre tracks, created a petrol station when playing outside, made a large train track and town and much more. The children worked so well together and created lovely play experiences for each other. Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity - Engage in and contribute to shared play experiences.

18.01.2022 Today at Little School we celebrated book week with a dress up day. The children all came as their favourite characters, we had a parade where the children could show off their costumes, took photos and read many books together. The characters we had for book week were Princess Anna, a ninja turtle, Emma wiggle, Spot the dog and a butterfly. Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators - Actively use, engage with and share the enjoyment of language and texts in a range of ways.

10.01.2022 We are having so much fun celebrating footy colours day at Little School today! We have been singing and dancing to our team songs, kicking the footy around outside, making flags and eating pies and footy franks.

06.01.2022 For the month of July we focused on Community Helpers at little school. We talked about what they children would like to be when they grew up. I traced around the childrens bodies and they turned their silhouette into their desired future job. We had a police officer and firefighter come and visit us this month, the children were so excited by this. The children tried on the uniforms, had their fingerprints taken, showed their visitors the silhouettes, watched the police car lights and listened to the siren and much more. It was a great month of teaching the children about all the different people in our communities and how they help each other. Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world Begin to recognise that they have a right to belong to many communities.
