24.01.2022 Today at Little Schoolies we focused on the Melbourne Cup. In each room we participated in a variety of fun experiences, some even included taking some pictures with some horse race props We loved our day celebrating the Melbourne Cup as we created our very own horses, washed some horses, participated in some horse races and even created our very own trophies.



24.01.2022 RUOK Day! Have you asked everyone around you if they are okay? Today’s mission of RUOK Day is to inspire and empower everyone to connect with people around them and support anyone struggling. The children learnt the importance of being kind through today’s experiences.

23.01.2022 Our children have been exploring all things nature. They were lucky enough to have some flower off cuts donated by a local florist. The children enjoyed exploring there sense of touch and smell. The children created a flower shop and floral headbands. The children had a ball. Thank you to Penny Blossom Florist for the donation

22.01.2022 Jeans for Genes day. Today the children wore their favoruite jeans to school & engaged in a variety of experiences to help build awareness in our community about today and why we were wearing our jeans to school.

21.01.2022 This week we have incorporated a week filled with Winter Olympics experiences. This will encourage children to get active while participating in group experiences. For our first day the children did Javelin, which helped the children further develop their over arm throwing skills. Due to the wet weather we also incorporated some painting of the Olympic Rings. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s events!

18.01.2022 Ready, Set, Go! It’s day 2 of our Winter Olympics & our Olympic champions are recoverying after a busy day. Today the children participated in 3 events. ... Weight lifting, the children counted out how many times they lifted the weights , sprints the raced around the track and through the finish lineand finally a egg and spoon race, the children thought this experience was hilarious and paid close attention to ensure that they didn’t drop their egg they also enjoyed doing some craft experiences. 16.01.2022 Today we all wore pink to show our support for Cancer Council's Pink Ribbon campaign and build awareness within our community. Trick or Treat We also continued on with our week of spooky Halloween activities

15.01.2022 Today we celebrated National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day. We took today as an opportunity to educate and share this knowledge and educate the children at the service. Our educators planned a variety of experiences for the children to engage with.

15.01.2022 Holy Little Schoolies Batman, said Robin as he entered into our centre shocked to see the many different super hero’s working hard to keep our centre safe. The children are enjoying superhero week & dressing up as their favourite characters. Which super hero will save the day?



12.01.2022 Day 4 of our Winter Olympics and our Olympic champions are doing great. Today’s events were high jump and a snow sledding race. The children were given ice cubes with people frozen inside and they raced them down the slide. We then stacked our yoga mats for the children to participate in high jump.

10.01.2022 International Fairy Tea Party Day! Today we celebrated this with a fairy tea party for morning tea, as well as decorating our fairy garden and other experiences. This celebration has been held on the days closest to the equinox - a day where the number of sunlight hours are the same no matter where you are in the world... Suddenly we are united by light and play and our imaginations

10.01.2022 Final day of our Winter Olympics & what a week it has been. Our Olympic champions are off to rest and recover this weekend & get ready for science week next week!!

09.01.2022 This week we are celebrating NAIDOC week and embracing the culture. Today the children participated in various experiences from aboriginal sand art where they drew aboriginal symbols and the children participated in many different group readings where they explored various books such as I’m Australian too and ‘how the kangaroo got his tail’ the preschool children were able to recreate their own book cover for their story as the children loved the illustrations. We also did aboriginal symbols in the sand and created their very own Dreamtime. We will continue exploring and educating the children throughout the week

07.01.2022 Today at Little Schoolies we educated the children on Remembrance Day, we did this through various experiences throughout the day and also held a minute of silence at 11am. Remembrance Day in Australia is dedicated to Australians who passed away as a result of war, particularly from World War I onwards. A minute of silence is dedicated to the deceased, especially for soldiers who passed fighting to protect the nation.

06.01.2022 Day 3 of our Winter Olympics. Today the children participated in shot put and continued with their running races as this has been their favourite this week. The children have demonstrated great sportsman ship this week!

04.01.2022 National Science Week. Our 0-2 experimented with oil and water, creating sensory bags. They enjoyed watching the oil and water mixing together then separating under their touch. Our 2-4s did a milk colour experiment using food colouring with milk and detergant. They watched the colours expand after each drop of detergant was added and how to colours would mix together, lastly our 4-6s were excited to see what would happen to the bicarbonate soda when they added the food colouring and vinegar. Using the droppers they squeezed the liquid onto the bi carb soda watching them mix together and bubble.

01.01.2022 This morning it was highly requested that we make rainbow slime, so we did just that with! The children had to listen to and follow the instructions to create their slime. Making slime promotes motor and cognitive development. This experience also allowed for our educators to incorporate science and mathematical concepts while the children engaged in a fun, hands on activity.

01.01.2022 Welcome to dinosaur world. Over the past week our preschoolers have been interested in dinosaurs. We transformed the dramatic play area into Dinosaur world The children were able to explore the trough with a variety of different natural areas for the dinosaurs to live in. We then spent the week making a volcano. First we built the volcano and then started the paper mache process. The children were excited to paint it brown and then finish it off with the lava. We are looking forward to more fun in Dinosaur world and learning about all things dinosaurs.

01.01.2022 Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles and some water play this week among the rooms The children have been exploring water and adding different things to it. Our bubbas explored the water through adding frozen animals to it and watching it as it dissolve and reveal the animal. Earlier in the week the 2-4 room explored water with flowers and playdough. The children created a tea party adding their flowers to the water
