22.01.2022 Oh Christmas Tree how we love you Oh Christmas Tree The children have been very engaged in theChristmas tree. A lot of excitement about how it comes to life and most importantly what will be under the tree! Lots of teamwork involved and reading/ interpreting instructions building our literacy and numeracy skills. A lot of discussion on how our trees are different from plastic/ live, little/ big, old/ new special decorations and the star on top. We decorated the tree ...with a lot of upcycled ornaments hand crafted and others from stuffed toys and donated Christmas chains etc. We have made many trees in sculpting playdough/ cookies, upcycled apple cartons and styrophome packaging. Children are confident and involved learners.

16.01.2022 Keeping Our Halloween theme going today we focused on a health food aspect Pumpkins Pumpkin soup from scratch- the children learnt about the texture/ colours, shapes/ sizes and ways it can be cooked. The importance of healthy eating and from a sustainability aspect growing them from a vine and discovering it in layers from stalk, skin, flesh and the seeds. ... Children practised some fine motor skills in scooping seeds from a pumpkin and we discussed how slimy the seeds were. The soup was yummy and attempted by most

16.01.2022 November was a busy month discovering oceans and a lot of water safety and sustainability practices. Recycling our cardboard and role play keeping our shores clean. Children discover and investigate the caution around water and our trusty community support. Surf life saving and the importance of swimming between the flags. Confident children communicate to their world. Keeping health and safe is important amongst our families.

11.01.2022 Today's Playgroup with friends was very interesting! The children learnt about different whales, sharks and animals from the ocean. We engaged in pretend play of what we catch in the ocean using magnetic rods. We asked questions about colours and all the different things we catch like fish, octopus, starfish n finding bottles with messages. We lightly touched on keeping our oceans clean and reminded children that we pick up the rubbish when we go fishing with family. Lite...racy and numeracy components were encouraged when children used the paint brushes like writing pencils to paint an O and then decide which 3 coloured sands they'd like to use to decorate our Ocean with! A sensory bin we discovered lots of coral, shells and the animals we might find amongst them- the children collected in buckets what they found interesting and voiced their choices. A Sailor went to Sea Sea Sea to See what he could See See See but all that he could See See See was bottom of the deep blue Sea Sea Sea

10.01.2022 Keeping healthy and recycling is fun! Today the children engaged in talks about healthy eating and chose Carrot as a vegetable they liked. We discussed how it was used, grown and its benefits in seeing in the dark. We referenced to Jamie s Grow book for extra interesting facts. We tried carrot and then followed up using styrofoam as soup mix. The children were engaged in chopping, sharing stirring and mum feeding . The peel of the pretend carrot was fed to the neighbours chooks. We also celebrated Mr Ks 6 th Birthday While a follow up of free art session choosing stickers texted and their favourite cartoon animal characters, Donnie breaks in the monster. Mr C showed us their sorting and fantastic tower building skills
