21.01.2022 Two years ago our gelato chef Max travelled to Italy to learn how to create gelato at the @icif_italia Culinary Institute. Located in the beautiful town of Costigliole d’Asti, the institute hosted people from around the world to teach them the craft of making amazing gelato from scratch. After weeks of balancing flavours, sugars, milk and cream under the guidance of @conti_1982._gelato_master, and passing the final exam everyone headed home to start their gelato adventures (...a big hello to @ontheroadgelateria , @lo_lodzik and @pilgrimsfudgekitchen ). 13 months later Little Sky opened it’s doors and what a year 2020 turned out to be! So instead of twiddling his thumbs he’s created some winter weather inspired flavours. New Flavour One Chai Latte with Honey. A smooth and creamy gelato, created with Schultz Organic Dairy milk and Saint David Dairy cream, was then infused with T2 Chai Tea and drizzled... with local Bayside honey for the perfect amount of sweetness. Finished, of course, with a sprinkle of cinnamon. We highly recommend enjoying this gelato on the couch, under a blanket, in a toasty warm house. New Flavour TwoOrange, Ginger & Honey. It’s super creamy (avocado), sweet (sugar), salty (sea salt), sour (lime) AND spicy (chilli) all at the same time ! 03.01.2022 New Flavour Friday Remember waaaaaaay back in March before Corona hit town and we donated a Create your own Little Sky flavour opportunity to the @stleonardscollege Community Fair Silent Auction with all funds raised going to the Victorian bushfire victims as well as other worthy community initiatives? Understandable if you don’t, everything seems a little hazy before Rona doesn’t it? Anyway, the Fair had to be cancelled due to you-know-what but the Silent Auction st...ill went ahead and after a bidding frenzy Rob took out the winning bid . It took until this week to get Rob in the kitchen due to you-know-what (and before lockdown) to bring his vision to life. So, without further ado, we introduce Rob’s flavour Whisky Pecan Pie. First, Australian pecans were candied and toasted using Canadian organic maple syrup. Then a pie crust inspired crumble was baked, and both were combined through a creamy gelato created with @schulzorganicdairy dairy milk, @stdaviddairy cream and, importantly, @hellyersroaddistillery award winning, single malt Tasmanian whiskey .
