24.01.2022 What a magical place we call home. A short drive from Bris Vegas. Making life time memories.

24.01.2022 The Educators and Children of Little Wishes would like to congratulate Michael and Angela on our 2nd Birthday. We are so proud of the Community you have created at Little Wishes. Here is a video of todays celebrations and a thank you from your Little Wishes team.

24.01.2022 Something exciting is happening at Little Wishes tomorrow .... #LoveMyECE #educatorsday2020

23.01.2022 Happy Friday!! What adventures do you have planned for the weekend?

22.01.2022 From little things big things grow The children in our Pod 3 playground have planted some snow peas recently that are growing little by little. The children have taken on the responsibility of watering the snow peas and monitoring the daily growth.

21.01.2022 Library time. On Monday we had our monthly excursion to the library... with a twist. We brought the library to us here at Little Wishes. The educators set up a mini library in the piazza for the mahogany children to visit and explore all the books. We had Mr Matt work his magic with his enticing stories and puppet show.

21.01.2022 Here at Little Wishes, we value the children's input into their learning, and we believe in making learning visible and accessible for all children to look back on and reflect upon their work. Here is a little glimpse of what this looks like in our Banksia room. The children love looking through their Learning Journals with their friends and sharing their memories of all the special things that have been recorded.

20.01.2022 Some days you just feel like sitting on a comfy cushion and exploring the world through a different perspective. Our 0-2year olds, have the perfect environment to do this. We recognise how much children change and develop in their first couple of years of life and a big part of this is the knowledge they build about the world around them. The mirrors in these books are sometimes used to look at reflections of the childrens faces, whilst other times they are used to look at the reflections of trees, clouds and the sky. When it comes to children, the more possibilities a resource has, the more popular the resource will be!

20.01.2022 White Ribbon Day Stand up, Speak Out. #endthecycle #whiteribbonday2020

20.01.2022 Take a sneak peak at our outdoor environments .... At Little Wishes we value outdoor play and we ensure our environments are always set for the children to explore. Through our outdoor environment our team of skilled Educators ensure there are many opportunities for play that encourage children to take risks, problem solve and revisit their own ideas and extend on these. Our team plan the environment to ensure they take into consideration the childrens interests, skills a...nd needs to ensure the environment will be successful for each child. From climbing up rock walls, swinging on the monkey bars or cooking up a storm in the mud kitchen there is plenty to do in our outdoor environment. As adults it is very common that we have memories from our own childhood that involve being outdoors. What is your favourite outdoor memory as a child?

20.01.2022 Happy Wednesday to all of our Little Wishes family! Today we welcome monkey to the stage with another exciting tale.....

19.01.2022 Gratitude Today we are grateful for big things, small things and everything inbetween. Our Friday was made a little bit brighter as two of our beautiful families shared their gratitude with us through some very thoughtful gestures. As we arrived at the centre this morning we noticed one family had dropped off flowers for some of the educators and hand written those educators cards, thanking them for all their hard work. If that wasnt enough to give us the warm fuzzies ...(which it was) we then received an unexpected pizza delivery for the whole team for lunch, from another grateful family. Our educators pour their hearts and souls into the children that we care for, and receiving these two special surprises today really made our team feel even more valued. To these two families, thank you for bringing that extra sunshine to our day.

19.01.2022 HAPPY EDUCATORS DAY Today is a day dedicated to our wonderful team. Its a day to celebrate all of their achievements, dedication and commitment to our children and families. This day is for our team to stand proudly as Early Childhood Educators and recognise what an impact they have had shaping our future generation. Today our team have been showered with love from our families who wrote meaningful cards, sent flowers, gifts and cake. Our team have had the most amazi...ng day and are all going home full of gratitude, love and cake! Happy Educators Day to all Early Childhood Educators who pour their hearts and souls into the work they do. To our Little Wishes Educators - thank you, thank you, thank you for showing up everyday and giving your best. We appreciate you.

19.01.2022 Today we are proud to have celebrated our 2nd birthday here at Little Wishes. We are so grateful to our wonderful, hard working staff for their loyalty and dedication in ensuring your child is loved and cared for. We are also incredibly thankful to you, our families, for your support and for entrusting us to care for your beautiful children whom we have grown to love. Thank you everyone. Look after yourselves.

18.01.2022 Room Names Did you know our classrooms are named after native Australian trees? Here at Little Wishes we provide children with a strong foundation to grow, wonder and connect. The trees our rooms are named after inspired our philosophy to view children as ever growing, changing and evolving. As we build a strong foundation for our children, we know they will be set for success both now and through their later years of life.

18.01.2022 Were hiring! We are looking for a fabulous early childhood Teacher to join Ms Holly and Teresa. https://www.seek.com.au/job/50074105?cid=ios-share

17.01.2022 Today we welcome Mr Matt and Tiny Tim for a magnificent tale... My shell is my home, it keeps me safe

14.01.2022 Small World Play The children in our Redgum room are very interested in animals at the moment, so the team have been very busy setting up small world provocations for the children to explore. Provocations like this invite the children to use their imagination and create their own play episodes with the resources provided. During this play episode the children spoke about going on a safari hunt!

14.01.2022 Little Wishes would like to recognise all the women that shape our lives. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

14.01.2022 Sometimes what you find after children play is just as interesting as their play itself. I wonder what conversations were had during this play and the story behind how this crane ended up hanging from a tree branch! We love moments like this, where we can so clearly see the childrens imagination. How do you think the crane ended up in this tree? Tell us your guesses below!

14.01.2022 Growth is something that we truly value at Little Wishes and it is so important for us to support, recognise and celebrate growth within our team. As the Early Childhood Education and Care sector is continuously evolving it is so important that our Educators skills and knowledge is evolving as well, to ensure our practices and principles are in alignment with current research. This week we celebrate with the wonderful Miss Caitlin and Miss Charlotte who have committed to growing their skills and knowledge with the help of the friendly team at Axiom College. Miss Caitlin and Miss Charlotte couldnt be more excited to be signed up to their course and we couldnt be more proud of these wonderful Educators. Well Done and Congratulations Caitlin and Charlotte!

13.01.2022 NATIONAL SCIENCE WEEK We are celebrating National Science Week this week at Little Wishes! Our 2-3 year olds have been exploring the science of colour. There was a hive of excitement as the children noticed the colours walking over to the other cup. To find a new colour in the middle also created quite the stirr! The children have been eagerly watching the thirsty flowers drinking their coloured water and after a big sleep they noticed the flowers had started to change... colour. At Little Wishes we feel so grateful to be able to experience the wonder and excitement of colours alongside the children. We love hearing the childrens questions and thoughts and working together to extend on their wonderings. The world is a very special place through a childs eyes

13.01.2022 Today was a very special day here at Little Wishes, as we welcomed Ms. Terri Butler MP and her staff to the service for a lovely morning tea and flag presentation. We were fortunate enough to receive the Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, through our local governments three free flag initiative. We are so grateful to have received these beautiful flags, that we will proudly hang in our service. We have a long road to reconciliation but here at Little Wishes we are taking steps each day to acknowledge and celebrate the traditional owners of our land. From little things big things grow.

12.01.2022 Were hiring! We are looking for a Lead Educator to join our great team. https://www.seek.com.au/job/50074060?cid=ios-share

12.01.2022 Sunday How are you and your family refuelling today?

09.01.2022 Whats Happening in our Neighbourhood? The children in Pod 2 absolutely love watching the cars go by each day. Much to their excitement the past couple of weeks there has been lots of trucks and machinery working on the vacant block of land across the road. The educators have been having many conversations with the children about the work that is being done and the possibilities of what might be built there. So far the most popular predictions as decided by the children are a shop or a house. Stay tuned to see if the childrens guesses are correct!

09.01.2022 Lest We Forget. The Little Wishes Children got our centre ready for this weekends Driveway Dawn Service.

08.01.2022 Building Persistence Here at Little Wishes, we understand that children aged birth - 7 years old are very busy growing and developing their brains. Nathan Wallis, a New Zealand Neuroscientist, tells us that it matters less what a child knows in this first 7 years of life, rather it is more important how a child feels about learning. Everyday at Little Wishes we encourage children to keep persisting and to try things over and over again until they have built their confidence or mastered the task. We are always working to ensure the children in our care see themselves as confident and capable learners through learning skills such as persistence and resilience.

08.01.2022 Saturday Morning Celebrations!! Today we say a massive Congratulations to our very own Miss Sandy, who this week has accepted an exciting promotion to Lead Educator of our Sandalwood Room. Miss Sandy is an extremely valued part of our Little Wishes family and we are so very proud of her achievement. Miss Sandy has all the qualities we identify as a great Lead Educator, she is dedicated, passionate, professional and always looking to collaborate and learn more. Miss Sandy ...is extremely focused on the children and enjoys creating a learning environment that is centred around their needs, skills and interests. Congratulations Miss Sandy! We cant wait to see you flourish in your new role.

07.01.2022 Welcome to our Eucalyptus Cot Room! At Little Wishes we provide our children with a calming environment that encourages rest and relaxation. As we all know, children are on the go all day long, so it is absolutely crucial that they have the opportunity to rest and recharge their batteries. Did you know it is estimated that children spend roughly 40% of their childhood asleep? It sure is tiresome work learning new things everyday!

04.01.2022 Have you ever wondered whats inside our beautiful service? Heres a sneak peek of our indoor environments. We place a strong value on ensuring all environments are aesthetically pleasing for children. Not only does this invite the children to play, but it also conveys a sense of respect for their play space. You will also notice in our environments, real life tools such as utensils that encourage children to develop skills that they will continue to use throughout their life. We are big believers that when you show children that you view them as confident and capable, they will show you exactly how capable they really are.

02.01.2022 Book Week Celebrations! This week we celebrated Book Week, ending the week with a dress up day. Throughout the week we fostered the children's love of reading and made particular use of our street library. Here are some of the wonderful characters we saw walking around Little Wishes today!

02.01.2022 White Ribbon Day Next Friday we are supporting White Ribbon Day by decorating our letterbox with a white ribbon and other white decorations in support of speaking up against Domestic Violence. We encourage you to join us in this initiative to raise awareness around Domestic Violence and encourage the conversations we need to be having in our homes and communities. ... Thanks to Lisa Millar for this wonderful idea and to Carolyn Robinson from Beyond DV for inviting us to partake in this meaningful movement. #whiteribbonday2020

01.01.2022 It was a fun and successful day at Little Wishes with a full evacuation fire drill. All our children and staff did an excellent job!

01.01.2022 Chalk Art While hands were busy we had time to chat about whats on our minds.

01.01.2022 Its another rainy day today! If you are running out of ideas on how to keep your children busy today, try some of the things on the list below. Wed love to hear how you and your family avoided cabin fever this wet weekend!

01.01.2022 At Little Wishes, we value the community we live in and we thrive on the feeling of connectedness and helping others. We are consistently looking for ways to give back to the community and become active and informed citizens. This year we have been doing our bit to support a wonderful charity called Lillian's Place. We have supported Lillian's place with donations from our families, our team have volunteered their time to help around the centre and most recently we have been... collecting bottles to recycle in the containers for change program. The money that we have raised from this initiative is being given directly to Lillian's Place to support their cause. Below is a picture of our second round of container collections, that earnt us $38.70 which has been directly donated to Lillian's Place. We look forward to continuing to collect containers and donate to Lillian's Place in this way. #DoingOurBitForTheCommunity
