10.01.2022 SUN CATCHER CREATIONS Children at Little Zebra Rockhampton were given the opportunity to make beautiful sun catchers out of leaves and flowers. Miss Allana attached contact to the childrens paper plates, and the children used their sensory skills by acknowledging that the contact was sticky on one side and smooth on the other. They used their fine motor skills and creative abilities to place the flowers and leaves around the plate in their desired spots. By using natural... resources to create art, the children used sustainable practices. They showed signs of enjoyment as they smelt the leaves and flowers. While they were looking at the leaves and flowers, the children also found little baby insect eggs. We all brainstormed which animal the eggs would turn into, and were also able to see a few sneaky bugs that had come inside with our natural resources. We then placed the leaf with eggs back outside so it was safe, and could hatch outside.
