23.01.2022 Chickenpox is going around again! Please remember NOT to give your children nurofen/ibuprofen if you think your child has it. This type of medicine is an anti-...inflammatory. It reacts with the chickenpox making them go deeper into the skin tissue, potentially causing a more severe secondary infection. Better options: Paracetamol for fever Calamine Lotion for the itch Keep your child hydrated Always seek medical advice. #bethedifference #sjaniantrim #sjani #mysjaday #savinglives

23.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all LOFA followers and participants. May you all have loads of fun, holidays, food and rest. Stay safe

18.01.2022 Sorry everyone, I have been missing in action on here and busy with exams and placement instead. Im just popping up a timely reminder with summer and holidays here to be extra cautious with your little ones around water, remember it only takes 20 seconds in 5cm of water for drowning to occur. As for you that have participated in this course you will remember the extra drowning hazards we spoke about such as dog water bowls, eskies, dams etc. Keep safe everyone

18.01.2022 Welcome back to some reality guys, I hope everyone has been well and stayed safe. Thank for keeping in touch with booking enquiries and questions. The next public class wont be until the end of July but private group bookings are still being taken so PM to see what dates I have available.

16.01.2022 Due to the current situation our East Gippsland residents are in at the moment, Little Ones First Aid will be donating $10 from every booking made during January and February to Boisdale Drought Breaker Fundraiser which is helping out the Buchan and Gelantipy residents in their time of need. If anyone else can help out at all please jump on their page and donate.

15.01.2022 When you have a neurotypical child, you feel reasonably assured that class participation and decent study habits will result in good grades. These kids have cl...ose friends. They get invited to participate in social things like dances and weekend gatherings. They make the teams, auditioned organisations and clubs. But when you have a child with certain differences, this is often not the case. Learning may take longer, both academically and socially. Despite their tremendous efforts, results are often a fraction of their peers and social acceptance is fleeting, setting them up for painful comparisons and bitter frustration. Instead of a fun and fulfilling experience, school can become a breeding ground for depression and anxiety, and assignments a battle ground at home. It is exhausting for parent and child alike. This is the week of SPED (Special Education), Autism, Dyslexia, and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) awareness. For all the children who struggle every day to succeed in a world that does not recognize their gifts and talents, and for those who are walking beside them, please let this be a gentle reminder to be kind and accepting of ALL people. Recognize that the "playing field" is not always a level surface. Children who learn differently are not weird. They are merely gifted in ways that our society does not value enough. Yet they want what everyone else wants: To be accepted!! If you choose, please copy and paste this in honor of all children who are deemed "different". Our world would be far less beautiful without them.

15.01.2022 Flare-ups do happen, and in children they are most often caused by colds and flu. These are almost impossible to avoid. A flare-up is different to having #asthm...a symptoms. They are generally more severe and require urgent medical attention. A sign that a flare-up is looming is where your childs symptoms dont respond to reliever medications, or return quickly after a dose. Learn more about flare ups here: http://ow.ly/6pkM50ycFY5

07.01.2022 No matter what technique you are using, make sure you only put one puff of medicine into your spacer at a time. If you put more than one puff in, the medicine s...ticks together and then drops to the bottom of the spacer before you have time to breathe it in. View our video on how to use a #spacer with a #facemask https://youtu.be/_o0M_dtxoS0 #asthma #asthmamanagement #puffer
