25.01.2022 ALIGNMENTIm been thinking a lot about alignment lately and whether I am living in flow and alignment. If Im being honest, the answer would probably be not really. At times I feel like Im a river, trying to go off course, away from my true purpose and trying to fit into the life I think I should have. Every now and then I feel a tug, a yearning from my heart to dive deep, be brave and allow the river inside me to flow strong and true and in alignment. Im reconnecting in with my feminine spirit, learning to ebb and flow with my menstrual cycle, and lean in to listening to my heart. I can already feel the magic starting to reveal itself. 25.01.2022 SUNDAY MOOD There is a lot to feel grateful for today!

25.01.2022 MAKING MORE SPACE I recently made a pretty big change to my life. I decided it was time to go out on my own with my naturopathic business, rather than working in someone else’s clinic. It was a big change and one I didn’t take lightly. But when I looked at my life I was being stretched thin... my energy was going in so many different directions and I was stressed and depleted and tired. I play so many roles in my life - I’m a mother, wife, naturopath, business owner, marke...ting manager..... Every single month just before my period I was feeling this restlessness and I couldn’t quite work out why. But when I finally made just a little space to tune in, I knew what I needed to do. A few months ago, it was hard for me to think about the week ahead of me, and I could not see my future business mapped out at all. Since I made my decision, my life has expanded in amazing ways. I’ve also made a conscious effort to not just fill up my time and instead I’ve allowed a little space to remain (it’s still very very busy!)... and I’ve experienced a deep exhalation in my body and mind. I’m feeling a deep sense of healing for the first time in years and I can feel myself soften and relax. If you are feeling burnt out or exhausted, you might actually find that doing less, rather than doing more is what will get you feeling better. 25.01.2022 HOW TO GET IN FLOW When you are in flow, things happen easily and beautifully. You can lose track of time as you lean into your creativity. When it happens, it can feel like you are the conduit for the universe! It’s actually quite tricky to sometimes get into, and stay in your own flow. 24.01.2022 ARE YOU TOO CONNECTED? We all crave connection, we are social beings... but lately due to lockdowns and the whole pandemic situation, many of us are finding ourselves turning to social media platforms for our social fix. Unlike real physical social connection though, this new way of staying in touch with the outside world might not be very good for you. I watched the new movie, The Social Dilemma on Friday evening and wow did it open my eyes. After watching it, I deleted Face...book and Instagram and stayed off them all weekend. Now, that might not seem very revolutionary to many, but lately Ive absolutely been addicted to my phone. My daily screen time has been creeping up insidiously, Ive found it so hard to concentrate and I have been feeling a lot of anxiety. After these last two days of being unplugged, I feel like a grounded human again! Im happy to say I didnt miss social media and I noticed a few interesting things too: I had so much more time to do things this weekend! The days went slowly (in a good way) I felt more connected to myself and my family I felt less anxious Its really made think about how I use these social platforms for business and connection, and moving forward Im going to have way more boundaries in place. 23.01.2022 MY FAVE MANTRA RIGHT NOW Im surrendering to life more at the moment. Im embracing the ebb and flow of my life just like Im learning to tune into the ebb and flow of my menstrual cycle. Im treating myself with more kindness and softness too. And you know what? In doing this, Im working less for my life and letting life work more for me. Im slowly getting back on course, letting my energy flow in the direction it has always wanted to go. We are travelling in rocky seas at the moment and for many, life isnt going the way we planned. 22.01.2022 SELF-ACCEPTANCE To love oneself is important. But to accept oneself as you are, in all your perfect imperfectness is another thing all together. Each and every one of us is a miracle, we really are! We are worthy of love from ourselves and others. We are not broken nor do we need fixing. When we practice self-acceptance we relax and soften into ourselves. This is when the real healing begins I think. Yes, herbs and nutrition and food can play an important role, but loving a...nd accepting ourselves goes a whole lot further. We spend so much of our lives thinking about the future, telling ourselves we will be happy when we have the perfect job, the perfect body and the perfect house. But those things don’t matter if we don’t accept ourselves as we are. When we allow self-acceptance to settle in deep, our hearts grow and bloom and we truly become ourselves again. It’s like a beautiful journey back to ourselves (a journey which I can be exhausting and frustrating and long but oh so worth it!) 21.01.2022 MAKING SPACE The last five years I have been busy making babies and looking after them, whilst also working on growing my business. My life has been full every single moment of every single day and each night I would go to be exhausted but happy. Ive loved the busy-ness and the growth Ive experienced professionally and personally, but there has not been much space for anything else. After lots of soul and heart searching recently, Ive made some changes to my life to ma...ke a little more space to enjoy this life Ive been creating (more on that in another post)... my usual habit would be to start filling up that space with more things to do!!! This time Ive decided to take a breath, leave that space and allow myself room to move, expand and grow, and let my life expand and grow gently around me. 19.01.2022 LESSONS FROM NATURE I usually find that on my early morning walks, many new ideas and types of inspiration flow into me. I find its almost like a moving meditation and something which has been so helpful to keep me grounded during this lockdown 4 in Melbourne. Today though, I just felt a little bit sad. Its been a tough year and most of the time I feel like Im coping really well - being mindful of the information I consume, how I nourish and move my body, taking my herbs... and supplements and taking part in activities to keep my vibration high. But today I felt a little flat and I was ok with that. I sat with that feeling and watched the wind blow thorough this tree (which was a bit mesmerising actually) and then I just started to feel a little better. I could smell the faintest fragrance of eucalyptus through my mask, I heard the birds singing around me, and like the wind moving through the trees, the sadness moved through me and went on its way. 19.01.2022 WHAT ARE WE STRIVING FOR? I left my little home bubble this morning to grab a coffee and felt like I was smacked right in the face with the reality of how much we compare ourselves to others. I couldn’t help noticing the girl with the super fit bod and great clothes....as we return to the new normal in Melbourne (thank goodness!), don’t forget the lessons we have learnt in lockdown - what is truly important to us... our health, contentment and our loved ones. 18.01.2022 TIPS FOR WEARING MASKS Its only been a few days since its become mandatory to wear masks in Melbourne, and it all feels a little surreal. Here are a few naturopathic tips I have been sharing with clients: Choose organic cotton masks over disposable ones - better for the environment and better for you! The cotton ones are SO much easier to breathe through and are gentler on your skin too! Just remember to wash them very regularly in a natural chemical free laundry dete...rgent Try and get some fresh air daily (in your backyard or garden). Its important that we continue to interact with our natural environment when we can! Be mindful of how you breathe with your mask on. Aim for slow deep belly breathing. Wearing masks (especially the synthetic ones) can impact your breathing (causing more shallow breathing which can reduce oxygen levels and stimulate your sympathetic nervous system!) 17.01.2022 SOMETIMES THE MOST PRODUCTIVE THING YOU CAN DO IS RESTSo many of us have forgotten the lost art of doing nothing. Its so easy to be distracted these days and much, much harder to find silence and a perfect pause in our busy lives. Our bodies and minds need it though, a nice big inhalation of rest as we fill ourselves up, rather than this constant exhalation of energy and productivity where we give more and more of ourselves. I must admit, I find it reallly hard to do nothing. As soon as I sit down I am reminded of the washing that needs to be done, the emails that need answering and the work that needs to be completed. Im getting better though, and in the moments of doing nothing, Im finding more connection to myself.....and thats something pretty special actually x

17.01.2022 YOU ARE MAGIC You are magic just as you are, not as you want to be or think you should be. When I first started meditating I was motivated to do so, as I thought it would make me less anxious, less stressed and less me I guess. But what I’ve found meditation has done, is help me accept these parts of me that I thought needed fixing. Meditation and mindfulness is usually a messy practice for me. More monkey mind than monk, but the very act of showing for it often is the key. Practicing more loving kindness towards myself has allowed me to to soften back into myself and start healing. You truly can’t heal if you dislike yourself. I am not broken or someone to be fixed. I am magic, just the way I am and so are you x (you really are!) x

17.01.2022 LISTEN TO YOUR HEART - IT KNOWS THE WAY We have all had our hearts broken in some way. Opening our heart after a traumatic experience, loss or heartbreak can feel very challenging for many people. Listening to what your heart has to say can be even harder. If you feel a little stuck, some heart opening yoga movements such as these from @wabisabimish are a gentle way to connect in with your beautiful heart. They are listening to the gentle whispers (or sometimes very loud voices!) from their bodies to lean in and trust themselves. 12.01.2022 NEW MOON RITUALS From ancient times, some cultures have referred to women having their menstrual periods as being on their moon. When women live together in natural settings, their ovulations tend to occur at the time of the full moon, with menses and self-reflection at the dark of the moon or new moon. Rituals are so incredibly important during this time where your intuition is strongest and your sense of connection to yourself can be deepened. 11.01.2022 JUST LISTEN Ive been doing a lot of listening lately and less doing. Ive been waking and listening to the birds celebrate the morning rather than reaching for my phone. Im been listening to the wind in the trees on my lunch break instead of eating at my desk whilst looking at my computer.... Ive been placing my hand on my heart and tuning into myself before bed, instead of getting lost in another Netflix show. I have been listening and Im starting to hear the little whispers that have waited a lifetime to be heard... and Im on my way, I have feel myself aligning and its magic

11.01.2022 KEEPING WARM THIS WINTER Far out, its so cold in the mornings lately!! I love Autumn (especially the beautiful blue skies we have been enjoying) but the cold mornings take a little getting used to! This time of year, its so important to adapt your diet to help support you through the cooler months. For me, that looks like lots of stews, soups, broths, cooked breakfasts and roasted foods + warm water, nourishing cacao (that flask Im holding is filled with warm Grounding ...Ritual Cacao) and lots of herbal tea. I also like to make the most of all the warming spices too - I add cinnamon, turmeric and ginger to my smoothies and meals. 11.01.2022 LOCKDOWN MUSINGS As I go deeper down the lockdown rabbit hole, the deeper I am connecting to myself. This has been both beautiful and challenging at times! Beautiful, because Im becoming more aware of how my menstrual cycle impacts how I am feeling and challenging for these very same reasons. How I am feeling internally, deeply affects how I experience the world and it also impacts the energy of my business! Im slowly learning to embrace the ebb and flow of my cycle and Im... starting to use this to my advantage. This might look like focusing on creative tasks when Im in my follicular phase or taking the foot off the accelerator when Im in my menstrual phase. There are so many ways you can embrace your menstrual phase in an advantageous way, rather than disconnecting yourself from this most magical part of bring a woman! I absolutely have been craving more stimulants like caffeine, carbs and chocolate and many of my clients have too! In many cases if we look deep down, we realise that these cravings are hiding what we really might be desiring: Connection Physical contact Time with loved ones... Freedom A sense of control Spontaneity Certainty about the future Fun Some tips you might want to try to manage your cravings include making sure you are well hydrated and having adequate protein in your diet throughout the day. 09.01.2022 LISTENING TO YOUR BODY Your body truly is remarkable! If you really think about the many amazing processes it performs on a daily basis, every single one of us is a miracle! Your body is always talking to you too - in the way it makes you feel sensations, pain, anxiety and even intuition. The thing is, we have lost touch with how to connect with and listen to these whispers, and so these whispers are turning into louder voices - chronic pain, menstrual problems, anxiety and depression, inflammation and so much more. Tune in, make space, listen softly and you might be amazed at the messages you hear. It’s up to you whether you decide to work with your body or against it. Happy Saturday lovelies!

08.01.2022 TUESDAY MUSINGS Distraction allows us to avoid what’s really going on deep down.... and our modern life is usually filled with so many distractions! Social media, tv, gaming, alcohol and drugs, socialising .... SO many things to keep us distracted. COVID took away many of these distractions (although things like online shopping and social media use has boomed - imagine if we had been locked down during a time with no internet !) and left more space and quiet for us to conn...ect back in. For many, that means feelings of anxiety and depression have come rolling back to the forefront. But are these new feelings or ones we have buried so deep down that we don’t recognise them as our own anymore? Right now, we have an opportunity to reconnect with our true selves and listen and learn. I am a naturally anxious person and I’ve be learning to sit with my emotions lately without judgment and control. It’s been a challenging journey back to myself but an important one. I’ve been leaning on my herbal and nutritional remedies, spending less time on social media and exercising mindfully out of love for myself rather than punishment. It is known by many names including shakti, yin, and lunar energy, and is often connected symbolically with the moon, Gaia (Mother Earth), and water. 05.01.2022 DO YOU FEEL SAFE? Wherever we go at the moment, we are reminded that the world we live in is not safe. Masks, sanitisers, distancing, its a constant reminder! All these messages put our sympathetic nervous system into overdrive!!!! This branch of the autonomic nervous system is all about fight of flight, it raises our cortisol, shunts blood away from our digestive system and stops us from healing. We need to be overcompensating right now with lots of rituals to help us feel ...safe: herbal adaptagens and nervines to nourish and calm our frazzled nervous systems belly breathing (add a drop or two of frankincense to your hands, rub them together and inhale deeply as you breathe) grounding practices calming exercise - yin, walking and yoga nourishing foods rich in magnesium such as cacao, nuts and seeds and organic leafy greens. 05.01.2022 PRACTICING SELF- KINDNESSBeing more kind to ourselves is an ultimate act of self-care. With kindness comes gentleness and softness towards ourselves and I think that’s so important right now. Where can you lean in and show more kindness to yourself? Can you make more space for personal growth, avoid being busy just for the sake of it, be mindful of thought patterns or exercise out of care for yourself rather than punishment for something you are? Our bodies and minds respond to the world in so many beautiful and dynamic ways. Our bodies respond to kindness by making space (almost like a little exhalation of relief that you are finally showing it the love and gentleness it deserves) and allows true healing to occur. So settle into the sweet body of yours and show it some kindness x

05.01.2022 TIME TO GO INWARDS Every month, menstruating women have an opportunity to turn inwards, listen to their intuition and reflect on the month that has been. Around menstruation, hormone levels are at their lowest and listening to your intuition or gut instinct becomes easier. Its a beautiful opportunity really, if you are open to it and make space for it to happen. When women tune into their cycles, and embrace the ebb and flow of their hormones they are living in alignment wit...h themselves and with Mother Nature. Some tips for getting the most out of this time of the month: disconnect from social media rest and avoid strenuous exercise reflect on the month that has been and reset for the next one be gentle with yourself enjoy warm and well cooked foods and drinks like nourishing cacao (I love the Ritual Cacao blend). It's likely that these measures will be in place for a while, so we must find a way to adjust in a way that prioritises our mental and physical wellbeing. Working from home definitely has it's advantages, but we must be mindful of keeping ourselves healthy whilst doing it. When I was studying my psychology degree, I was so inspired by what these little substances can do for our brain function and feelings of contentment and happiness. 02.01.2022 CLEARING ENERGY If you are a sensitive person, its likely you pick up on the energy around you. Everything in the natural world is made of energy and had its own unique vibration, including you. I clear the energy after each and every Naturopathic session I have with a client, and it makes a big difference to how I am able to show up and tune into every person and also impacts how I feel after a full day of seeing clients! My absolute favourite way to cleanse is with palo ...santo - a deeply sacred and spiritual tree which has the ability to cleanse energy. Its heady scent is unmistakable and only adds to the whole clearing ritual. I also use it in my daily cacao rituals and Ive found I have needed to use it more often lately. 01.01.2022 EMBRACING THE SEASONS This lockdown in Melbourne has been hard and long and relentless. But I’d be lying if I said there were not parts of it that I have enjoyed to. With not many outward journeys going on, I’ve been taking lots of internal personal ones through meditation, journaling and just getting back in touch with myself. I actually like my own company, love going to bed early and enjoy getting creative. I also love people and I enjoy being a Naturopath, but as a highl...y sensitive and intuitive person (which comes in handy when I am working with my clients!) I need lots of time to recharge too. This time has given me the opportunity to really tune into the ebbs and flows that occur throughout my monthly cycle and I’m being gentler and more kind with myself because of it. It’s one thing to know yourself, but something even lovelier to accept and embrace yourself too. We have all the seasons inside us, sometimes it rains and sometimes it’s sunny... and there is a purpose for each and every one of them x See more
