24.01.2022 More than 150 Little Athletics centres from Tassie to the Top End has been given much-needed funding relief ahead of the summer season thanks to a $521,000 cash injection for sports equipment from Coles. It is the single largest round of grants distributed to Little Athletics centres since the Coles Little Athletics Community Fund was established two years ago to support aspiring athletes following in the footsteps of Aussie champions and Coles ambassadors like Sally Pearson ...and Brandon Starc. 21.01.2022 Vale - Gregory George Adams It is with great sadness that we advise the passing of Greg Adams. Greg was the President of Australian Little Athletics from 1980 - 1984. ... Life Member of South Australian Little Athletics, SA Athletic League, Darwin Runners Club and Port Adelaide Athletics Club and Bay Sheffield Hall of Fame inductee. Greg and his wife Margaret were founding members of Woodville LAC and both held various roles as Team Manager or coach of the SA Little Athletics State teams over the years. In 2000 his contribution to Athletics saw him receive the honour to carry the Olympic Torch through Port Adelaide. A friend and Coach to many. a life well run. 03.01.2022 Athletics is a sport you can be involved in for a lifetime! Just ask Val Chesterton, who continues to compete in athletic events in her 80s. When asked about why she loves athletics, Val says there are so many options in the sport to keep her fit, strong and active. I never get bored, she says. Athletics keeps me keeping on.... At the other end of the age range, the Davidson family, with three young children, have already been involved with Little Athletics for a number of years. Parents Deborah and Dru say they were just keen to get their kids outside and active. Each of our kids have different strengths and abilities, and at Little Athletics there is something that suits everything, says Deborah. The challenge is to run, walk or wheel 115 kilometres between October 10th and November 10th. The Coles Little Athletics Australia National Camp is a very special event in the calendar of athletics and it also had to be cancelled due to COVID-19.
