I thought Id reintroduce myself to any new faces around here - its so great to have you! Little Bird Bridal is a by appointment only consignment bridal boutique stocking exclusively pre-loved wedding gowns. I got married in Sydney a few years ago, and when I moved to Perth I had a look ...into selling my wedding gown, however I wasnt able to find an exclusively consignment bridal boutique to help me - so I thought Id start my little biz to help others just like me! I sell beautiful pre-loved designer gowns, all in excellent condition (some have never even been worn!) and I love meeting all the amazing Perth brides and brides-to-be to help them either sell their wedding gown, or find the dress of their dreams! 21.01.2022 Top Tip Tuesday VEILS Did you know that 63% of brides in Australia wear a veil? It is, after all, one of the only days in your life that its considered appropriate to, so maybe thats why it has stood the test of time in terms of wedding fashion Veils can be made out of a variety of fabrics, the most popular being tulle - however there is an endless array of fabrics, trims, styles and lengths that veils can come in! Theres also the option of multiple tiers, depend...ing on how voluminous of a look you are wanting Lets take a closer look at the lengths of veils and their names Swipe to see a diagram Birdcage - usually made of netting or lace, this length can cover just the eyes, or fall at the nose or jawline. Fabulous for a sophisticated look! Blusher or shoulder length - blusher is also the name given to the part of the veil that goes over your face in a two-tier or above option, and falls around the collarbone/shoulder area. It can give such a cute vintage vibe and doesnt compete with the details of the dress! Elbow length - as the name suggests, this length falls over the shoulders and finishes at the elbow. A beautiful and conservative option if youre looking for something easy to maneuver! Fingertip veil - again, this one is self explanatory with the veil finishing at the fingertips. Similar to an elbow length, however this length can allow the design of the back of the gown to show through. Ballet length - this length ends at around the knee giving volume without adding too much weight Waltz length - slightly longer finishing around the mid calf, this adds drama while allowing the bride to still move freely Floor length - again, a self explanatory one! This can add a bit of volume to your look with a slightly more streamlined gown Chapel length - this length extends slightly past the end of the gown. Youll most likely have to sit down for at least part of the day (car ride, sit down dinner if you are having one etc.) so make sure you arent going to pass out when you do! 16.01.2022 3 Things to Bring to Your Bridal Appointment Nude underwear - shapewear if you have it, otherwise skin toned underwear is fine. Most gowns don’t need a bra so don’t stress too much about bringing a strapless bra to your appointment A hair tie! It’s so handy to be able to envision gowns and veils with your hair up/down/to the side/half up half down etc. and it can really make a difference to the overall look!... An open mind. What you have in mind may not suit your body like you thought, or you might fall in love with something unexpected! What would you add to the list? When trying on gowns (particularly pre-loved gowns!) it’s always best to go for something a little too big rather than a little too small - it’s is much easier to take in a gown than it is to make it bigger! 11.01.2022 Top Tip Tuesday - Bride On A Budget Did you know that Saturday is the most popular day to get married? In Australia, 63% of weddings take place on a Saturday. Maybe you didnt know officially, but you probably guessed. We (Sam and I) were among the 5% of couples who get married on a Thursday and guess what? No one declined our invitation purely because it was taking place on a Thursday and it was a much more affordable day to get married! You can save a fair bit of... money AND stress by getting married on a weekday - our venues were cheaper, and everything we needed was available on a Thursday surprise surprise! Having a shorter engagement meant some of the vendors we wanted to use werent all available on the same date when we were looking at a Saturday wedding. Getting married on a Thursday meant everything was available, affordable and our local guests just took the afternoon off work, and our interstate/international guests had a nice long weekend to enjoy in NSW! 04.01.2022 How consignment works in 5 easy steps 1. Gowns need to be less than 3 years old, dry cleaned or new and in excellent condition 2. You can then book a consignment appointment online to bring your gown in for me to have a look at 3. You bring your gown into the studio and we go through the contract together to agree on things like pricing ... 4. Your gown is ready to sell! Brides come in to try on your gown and find the one 5. Your gown sells and I transfer the funds directly to you, minus commission and any seller fees that apply - all while you sit back with your beverage of choice and enjoy! Need some more info?
