24.01.2022 Today, as we get into the last half hour of food service of 2020, we’d like to reflect on the year It’s not easy to grasp onto the whole picture of this year. For many of us, this year feels like a lifetime that has been split up into smaller, more manageable portions for our brain to process and comprehend. For us, these are the portions: The local bushfires ... News of COVID-19 Reopening business as takeaway only Reopening business for 10 customers at a time Reopening business for 20 customers at a time Reopening business with 4sqm rule Closing and rebuilding a whole kitchen (with government help) Recruiting a whole new kitchen team We have all experienced change. And from change, we can only grow stronger. **PLEASE READ THIS PORTION** Little Black Pug is not what it used to be. We first opened as a niche dog friendly cafe, but we have found that first and foremost, we serve YOU our human customers. You are the ones that allowed us to survive this year, and you are our primary focus. For those who have been with us over time, you may have noticed that we have realigned ourselves. Our pugs are no longer the forefront of the picture, but are in the background of everything. Our human dining spaces keep expanding... We are dog friendly, but our focus is on food, coffee, and customer service. We still have a passion for dogs (and our pugs especially). But we have a greater passion for: Giving you an amazing customer service experience where you feel you are at home Feeding you your first gluten free pancakes that doesn’t taste gluten free Dishing out an eggs benedict that is deliciously out of the norm Pouring you that cup of Toby’s estate coffee that is smooth from the first sip Making you a Yuen Yeung Hong Kong style coffee that brings you back to your hometown Giving you vegan options so that you can still dine with your carnivorous friends These are the things that give us the greatest joy when we see your smile and hear your satisfaction. 05.01.2022 Around 22 months ago, our humble little cafe outgrew it’s space and opened a back dining space to fit 9 more tables. . . Flash forward, this month (which marks 30 months since we opened) we were able to expand the kitchen to occupy almost the whole original indoors dining space through a government grant for small businesses. .... .
