25.01.2022 We were very blessed to be thanked by Landcare Australia on their Facebook page for our tremendous efforts by our Little Bouncing Bears children and staff for our recent Woolworths Landcare Grant project

24.01.2022 The Toddler children continued to expand on their love of farm animals today, with an opportunity for a puppet story telling experience which was arranged with a barn prop setting and various farm themed puppets. Puppets offer many developmental benefits, which include developing childrens communication and social skills by providing opportunities to interact with the puppets and for making music and creative movements more interesting by teaching children the words and movements to songs.

22.01.2022 At Little Bouncing Bears it is important for us to build on our community engagements. As we cant visit the EKKA this year, we brought the EKKA to us, with an extra special week of both educational and fun experiences, creating wonderful encounters for the children to enjoy. The Ekka is a wonderful place to expose children in a safe environment to animals that they may not encounter on a daily basis. To provide this opportunity, farm areas were created across the centre with... pigs, horses, cows and sheep, where the children engaged in learning experiences to help milk cows, rake hay, collect eggs, shear sheep and learn where our food comes from. The carnival activities created our very own side show alley, where games, fun mask making and rides were had.

22.01.2022 Little Bouncing Bears will be celebrating International Literacy Day tomorrow with fun language activities and by coming dressed as our favourite book characters.

22.01.2022 The Kindy children continued their weather learning today, this time talking about snow, before partaking in a science experiment to create a snow storm in a jar. Firstly, they learnt that water and oil dont mix and when they were added to the jar, they stayed separated. They then learnt that when you add a reactant to the jar, in this case an alka-seltzer tablet, water and oil are forced to interact to allow the carbon dioxide gas to escape. Adding paint to the water thickened the water, which made larger bubbles during the reaction process. The bubbling and swirling colours, looked just like a snow storm, which caused much fascination amongst the children.

22.01.2022 At Little Bouncing Bears our educators believe it is important to introduce community concepts to children at an early age. As Red Nose Day falls on a public holiday this year, we decided to do an early celebration starting from today and that will continue across next week. Alongside the fun and excitement, of the many activities that were had across the centre to ignite the awareness and the importance of Red Nose Day, our parent libraries also have educational resources available to assist parents that come direct from the Red Nose Day Resources. The resources enable educators to have discussions with families about safe sleep practices, tummy time and how to make a safe transition from the cot to a bed.

21.01.2022 At Little Bouncing Bears, we love instilling the knowledge and excitement that books, reading and literature brings. To help celebrate and discover the world of books, we are having a Book Dress Up day on Tuesday 25th August 2020, where the educators have organised amazing book activities for the children participate in. We cannot wait to see everyones favourite book character costumes.

21.01.2022 At Little Bouncing Bears, worm farms are embedded into our daily practices. To ensure they run efficiently the Kindy children track and monitor our worm farms each day to see how much food the worms have eaten and to see if theyve added enough water to the worm farm to help produce worm tea. As Worm farms can produce huge amounts of worm wee, which is a super-rich liquid fertiliser-like rocket fuel for your garden and pot plants, the worm tea is the very best source of natur...al, organic fertiliser in existence. Packed with beneficial microorganisms that create healthy, fertile soil, worm farming can help you have a thriving garden while reducing your waste, improving your soil and protecting water quality. By taking part in using our worm farm, the children across the centre gain an understanding of how to reduce household waste and how the worm farms process the food scraps to then create the worm tea. The children water the plants with the worm tea each week by collecting it from the worm farm in watering cans or containers.

21.01.2022 Outdoor Classroom Day was celebrated at Little Bouncing Bears today, which is a global campaign to inspire and celebrate outdoor learning and play. By getting involved in the annual celebrations, helps support the promotion to the world that time outdoors every day is important for every child. During the outdoor play this morning, saw the Kindy children excitedly discovering a lady bug. This created a whole day of learning about lady bugs that involved the entire class. ... Carefully caring for the lady bug in a bug catcher, saw opportunities to investigate the lady bug with open ended conversations, observing and doing real life drawings of the lady bug and watching an educational video, before we kindly released it back into our gardens.

20.01.2022 Camping is a great way of exploring the world. For some children an exploration of camping will be new while others will be recreating experiences they may have had with family. The childrens recent interest In camping has led to play and discussions involving food, shelter, fire, water, relationships, animals, songs, discovery and light and dark. ... It has allowed the children to experience and imitate adult roles and develop negotiation skills with friends. Children are given autonomy and the freedom of self expression as they construct their own situations. The camping interest has seen them being explorers bedding down for a night after a long day exploring the wilderness, working out how to build their tents and building a campfire to make roasted smores on the fire. The experience allows the children to invent and reinvent themselves, their role within the space and their relationships with their friends.

18.01.2022 Today’s celebration of Outdoor Classroom Day, saw much excitement in sharing laughter and happiness, when the sudden spring of a fine mist of spray from the hose occurred during our daily garden program. Outdoor experiences are an important part of children’s healthy growth, learning, wellbeing and development. The benefits of outdoor learning environments and engagement in nature play for young children are varied and many.

18.01.2022 There can be no doubt that one of the greatest gifts in the universe is childhood friendship. Playful moments with friends allow for opportunities to be carefree and joyful.

16.01.2022 Starting school is an important and exciting time for children and families. To ensure our Kindergarten children are prepared for prep, Little Bouncing Bears helps with activities that supports and promotes their independence. One of these independence skills, is being able to open their own water bottle, fill it with water from the water fountain and then replace the lid. ... The children are mastering their skills, and building their confidences as they continue the practice as an embedded part of their day.

16.01.2022 Childrens worlds are filled with animals, both living and represented, which makes animals a popular play interest for toddlers. The toddler children have had an ongoing interest in farm animals and today extended this interest in being farmers. The opportunity allowed them to use their gross motor and coordination skills to gather their crops and herd their farm animals around their farm using wheelbarrows.

15.01.2022 Today we celebrated both our wonderful Tonis birthday and her two year anniversary at Little Bouncing Bears. We hope Toni has an amazing day with lots of spoils tomorrow for her actual birthday.

14.01.2022 The Kindy children explored our monthly story time day with a small puppet world of their favourite story The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Their imagination was the limit when it came to helping the children explore their literature rich environment that was set up with their own painted scenery and props. The children were able to use their own ideas to help retell the story in their own words, creating the story from their memory.

12.01.2022 The kindy children have been fascinated with caterpillars and butterflies for an extended period of time. They are regularly seen searching the playground in the hope of a discovery. Recently, a pair of black antennae were spotted in the vegetable garden, causing a buzz of excitement. Investigating further, the children found a caterpillar hidden amongst the vegetables. The children in their explorations are reminded to observe and not touch any creatures they find without ...an educator, to ensure they show care, respect and guardianship for all the living creatures they find. Taking this into consideration, the caterpillar was carefully given a new home with soil and leaves, so the children could observe its life cycle. Excitingly, they have been watching the caterpillar turn into a chrysalis, monitoring it each day for any changes. With excitement building further, they were able to witness the butterfly emerge. Helping release the butterfly, they watched in amazement as the butterfly took flight.

05.01.2022 Little Bouncing Bears celebrated Science Week this week. To support their continued learning, the Kindy children participated in many different science activities. One of the activities was a simple measurement and math activity that was a fun way to introduce volume, by comparing the weight, size and capacity of various rice and pastas. ... The Kindy children learnt by exploring, observing, and figuring out how to use the weight scales, as they worked out first how much of the rice and pasta it took to reach the same volume in tubes. Then they hypothesised between each other, how much they needed to make the weight scales balance.

05.01.2022 Little Bouncing Bears celebrated our Book Dress Up Day today, to help inspire the children and assist them in learning the value of books and stories. Still life art allows the children to focus on the process instead of the end result, giving them a chance to work on their fine motor skills, whilst exploring their limitless imaginations.

02.01.2022 Little Bouncing Bears conducted their regular Fire Drill Practice today. Fire Drill Practices can sometimes cause confusion and be frightening for some children, as they can be too young to understand why it is occurring. To lessen this fear and help children become more familiar with these events, we practice these fire drills regularly, which is also part of our requirements in childcare. Some children, however, can be enthusiastic and excited for the experience and will continue the experience through role play and discussions with peers and educators.

02.01.2022 This week at Little Bouncing Bears we have been supporting Dental Health Week by assisting the children through their play, with activities that not only teach the importance of oral care, but that stimulate their interest. Learning to take care of teeth at a young age helps ensure the good habits will continue into their adulthood. Setting the foundation for dental care starts in small steps. By exposing children through discussions and activities involving healthy food, teeth and toothbrushes, the children will become familiar overtime with the concept of dental care.
