25.01.2022 Mum guilt.. Who feels it? Work too much? Work too little? Tired & grumpy come night time? The balance of being a working Mum, also comes Mum guilt. The expectation we put on ourselves, which is normally the pressure we put on ourselves and only ourselves ... At the end of the day, we are only human and we all have thoughts & wants.. Everyone deserves a break from there kids and everybody is entitled to sometime out.. I personally feel I become a better parent when I do something for myself, take a break, do a workout, get a blow dry.. a bit of self care makes a huge difference... 24.01.2022 When I became a mum, I loved to research sleep, then it grew to a passion. I became a Mum again, 17 months later & that’s when I knew there was more to sleep training then what I knew because my daughter was something else. I decided to study with a 7 month old & 2 year old whilst working at the gym... crazy!! It was a daunting position to be in but its certainly the best thing I have done now. ... I have just completed my last assessment for 2020.. this was also my 222nd assessment since I opened my business 13 months ago... A massive thank you to everyone for supporting me & trusting me to help you With growth comes change, this beautiful new logo has been made for me from the wonderful gals at Made of Fridays they are my go too for every arty thing that is required for running a business and that’s a lot. 23.01.2022 9/10 Month Regression Helloooooo Seperation Anxiety Hugeeee for this age! ... They want to be carried Cuddled to sleep They have a 2M rule and you must not get any further away You must not leave any room, especially there room (how rude of you Mum/Dad) They are smashing there developmental milestones with crawling, sitting up, chatting more & starting to become more adventurous. The positives about this regression is developmentally, physically, emotionally & cognitively they are learning all the right things and all these behaviours are normal! Consistency: this is super important so although there feeling a little off with not wanting to leave your side we are reassuring them with our consistency We want to comfort but not over stimulate, making sure you are not making the situation worse for sleep time. Communication: plenty of talking about the process of nap/bed time so when it comes to it, it’s not just a surprise Although our heart strings are pulling, it is so important that you ride this separation anxiety out with them and you always returning to them gives them the reassurance they need to get through it. 22.01.2022 Toddler alert ‘We reached out to Bree when Louis our 2 year toddler would continually wake and not go back to sleep unless he was in bed with mum and dad! We welcomed our newborn son and it was just too hard to continue doing this. Bree gave us a detailed sleep assessment based off Louis’ routine. ... There were several changes we needed to implement which was very daunting for all of us. Almost a few days later Louis has slept through two nights in a row and is self settling! He is much happier due to not being overtired. 19.01.2022 Throughout pregnancy, labour, the first few week, the first few months we are always influenced by those around us... Most telling us how to parent, what worked for them, believe it or not what worked for them won’t always work for you Trust your gut, trust your parenting, it’s different to your best friend, your sister in law & your neighbour’s ... There is nothing better then owning your parenting & feeling confident with what your doing. At the end of the day you spend 24/7 with your babe, even though we don’t think it but you know them best, regardless of the professionals telling you otherwise. Somedays we guess, sorry most days we guess but we have that intuition telling us something to guide us through parenthood. Trust yourself.. 16.01.2022 H a p p y N e w Y e a r Didn’t quite make it to midnight but I got to hang with my fav gals & pals and put my babes to bed and wake up with them. 2020 was a roller coaster year but I have learnt & taken so much positivity from it! 16.01.2022 Most afternoons you’ll find me here... Why? Because the weather is beautiful & my kids can run wild, buttttt.... Vitamin D = Melatonin What is melatonin? ... Melatonin is a hormone produced in the pituitary gland, from a chemical called melanin. Melanin is what the body absorbs from the sun When your babes are exposed to darkness once building there melatonin levels in the sun, they are tired & fall asleep a lot easier and they go to bed when you ask them too sometimes but it certainly helps How do you spend your arvos? #vitaminD #melatonin #sleephormone #tiredtoddlers

15.01.2022 R E V I E W ‘ I was at my breaking point with my 6 month olds night wakings. I hadn’t had more than 5 consecutive hours of sleep since before she was born! (And 5 hours was considered a great stint) I had a phone consult with Bree and after telling her a bit about the problems I was having and what I was currently doing, she was so quick to give me some useful suggestions that I could start implementing straight away. Her sleep assessment was so thorough and the suppor...t I have received afterwards has been so helpful! Andi is sleeping so much better at night and is a happy baby during the day! She’s self settling for all of her day naps and during the night! 15.01.2022 ‘When we contacted Bree our little man was only catnapping for 30 mins each nap and I was also feeding him to sleep every nap. Most nights he wasn’t going to sleep until 8:30/9 o’clock. When he would wake overnight (which some night was up to 3 times) he was up for at least 1/2 hour for a feed and nappy change. We had Bree come to our house for a 2 hour home consult (highly recommend). He is now nailing self settling every nap. He is asleep by 6:30 at night. He wakes once ove...r night (usually after 10 hours straight sleeping) for 10 minutes for a feed and then straight back to sleep until 7am (some mornings I will have to wake him). We cannot thank Bree enough for all her information and guidance. For him to be self settling and me not having to feed him to sleep has been a big weight off my shoulders! Also having him asleep by 6:30 when he was going to sleep at 8:30/9 usually! Highly recommend contacting Bree if you’re having sleep issues with your little babe! You will wonder why you hadn’t done it earlier. Thanks again Bree! 14.01.2022 What A Weekend Away With Our Most Special Despite Frankie having a double ear rupture with a minor set back to a GP & antibiotics.. we managed to build 100 sand castles, walk on the beach every morning & afternoon.. and bathe ourselves in sea, sand & salt whilst indulging in beer & chocolate . 09.01.2022 ‘We first contacted Bree when our little girl was 5 months old. We were moving her into her cot in her own room and wanted some help to make the process as smooth as possible. Bree was amazing and quickly helped us settle her in. We contacted Bree again when she was 15 months old. Bedtime was a huge fight and she was waking multiple times throughout the night. I was very hesitant to ask for help and wasn’t too confident I would be able to break the vicious cycle we were in. ...Bree was nothing but supportive, she was quick to respond to my many questions, multiple times a day. Bree was so gentle and calm, I found the process really hard but she was always there to reassure me I could do it. Without her support there is no way we could’ve done it on our own. Bree is so knowledgeable and understanding, I wouldn’t hesitate to refer her to other parents. 09.01.2022 Review Toddlers are the best to train ‘Wish I had reached out sooner to Bree!! ... Every sleep I was rocking/feeding/holding to sleep! I was losing hours a day doing this. Night times were a disaster! Every night I was battling to get Kenzie to sleep, some nights it was taking 2 + hours. I was left feeling deflated and in tears many times. Kenzie was also waking multiple times between her bedtime and midnight which then resulted in co sleeping. Within 24-48 hours of having a consultation with Bree, Kenzie was self settling for all sleeps and sleeping through till early morning! Bree restored my confidence around bedtimes and also helped with other anxieties I had around sleep! 03.01.2022 R e v i e w T i m e ‘Hard to think why I waited so long to reach out for help, my 18mth old daughter had only ever slept all night maybe 5 times & we were both exhausted. Bree has been amazingly supportive helping us overcome each new hurdle like a bump in the road! 02.01.2022 Daylight Saving Clocks move forward by 1 hour on Sunday 4th October @ 3am. Monday = start your day at 6:45am. Everything runs 15 minutes earlier then normal. ... Tuesday = same as Monday Wednesday = start your day at 6:30am. Move all naps & bedtime 30 minutes earlier. Thursday = same as Wednesday Friday = Run everything 45 minutes earlier. Start your day at 6:15am Saturday = same as Friday Sunday = This is now your normal 7am wake up!!!! 01.01.2022 I didn’t have a baby shower for any of my girls. Not my thing, I hate being the centre of attention. My bestie had a big gender reveal with exploding pink ballo...ons. And I cried because it was so beautiful. That day is one of my all-time favourites. But I wouldn't choose it for my own family. I breastfed until my girls weaned onto steak because I was too disorganised to sort a bottle. My mate bought formula on the way home from hospital, her bleeding nipples were done by day four. Which one of us made the right parenting decision here? Neither of us. Both of us. As mums I think we automatically feel judged when we see other parents making different choices. For example, I don’t let my girls have TikTok, Snapchat, social media etc. You do. We make different choices because our families are different. But let’s be clear, there is no right or wrong here. I’m simply not ready for that stuff in my house because I don’t have the energy to police it. (You is nobody particular, I’ve had this discussion with a lot of people this week.) I got a wonderful message from a school mum the other night not inviting my daughter to a sleepover. Hey. I know Miss 9 isn’t allowed sleepovers but can she come here and stay really late for a party? As late as you are comfortable with? She was respecting my mum boundary. She didn’t invite my kid for a sleepover because she knew my no-sleepovers (yet) rule. She didn’t try and talk me into it. She didn’t exclude my kid. She let me trust my mum gut. Similarly, I try not to feed her kid crappy food, because that’s against her family’s values. (I try, man, that is hard work! Respect!) Making different choices does not automatically equal judgement mums, let’s remember that. You do you, I’ll do me and we’ll both complain about our whinging kids over coffee, deal?
