25.01.2022 Miss Clare is picking up her new Dachshund puppy this weekend and they are undecided on a name for this adorable little guy. She would love to get some suggestions from the Little Fish families. These are some of the names they are thinking of but open to new ideas - Beau, Bailey, Tim Tam, Snickers, Rocky. Post some suggestions/ideas for her to consider and then well let you know what she decides!

21.01.2022 We are going 'Rainbow' next week, for our last week of Term 3 Because with all the crazziness going on in the world who doesn't need a little brightening up! Bring your children along in their brightest swimwear, do their hair in the craziest way and join us for some fun in the pool. We look forward to having some fun to finish off Term 3 and celebrate with all of our wonderful families and 'Champion Little Fish' swimmers!

21.01.2022 **Re-opening of Little Fish for Term 3 (13 July)** Following on from the government's announcement regarding the 3-Stage Plan for Easing Restrictions, we have met and discussed the best option for the re-opening of our swim school. Whilst we may be able to open in 'Stage 2' of the Queensland Government Roadmap, we both feel that waiting until Term 3 (from Monday 13 July) to re-open is the right decision given the current circumstances. This ensures we fall into the 'Stage 3' ...time frame from the Queensland Government Roadmap which is from 10 July onwards. This is where most businesses and activities resume. Factors we considered include: - Stage 2 would see us open mid-June which would be 2 weeks before school holidays and therefore we don't feel it would be fair to start lessons for only 2 weeks and then break again, causing more disruption to children. - Opening in Stage 3 for when Term 3 resumes will ensure we have time to put all necessary precautions in place to ensure everyone's safety whilst attending swimming lessons. We are working on a plan and will communicate what changes and restrictions will be implemented prior to re-opening. - Waiting for Term 3 will also ensure we are confident with the number of virus cases as all of the easing of restrictions occurs. It will also give families time to prepare for a return back to normal life and activities and get children back into a more normal routine before commencing lessons. Whilst we would love to have all children back in the water as soon as possible, we feel this plan is the right one for the swim school given the current circumstances and the government's advice on easing of restrictions. Booking for Term 3 From here we will be working on our COVID safe plan for returning to lessons. From early June we will begin contacting all of our existing customers and those who have expressed interest in returning to lessons or new bookings to confirm your availability and if you definitely want spots for Term 3. We will then put all classes together with the aim of having all rolls/class timetable finalised by late June for the return of lessons from 13th July. Thanks for your patience and support. Kind regards Hayley & Jodie

21.01.2022 Incy Wincy Spider Heres one for babies and toddlers. We thought they might like to hear Miss Shinead singing Incy Wincy!! You can show them this one and do it with them in the bath/shower. Use a small cup, colander, siege or something instead of the bucket but remember your cueing before putting water over your little ones head.

17.01.2022 We are going Rainbow next week, for our last week of Term 3 Because with all the crazziness going on in the world who doesnt need a little brightening up! Bring your children along in their brightest swimwear, do their hair in the craziest way and join us for some fun in the pool. We look forward to having some fun to finish off Term 3 and celebrate with all of our wonderful families and Champion Little Fish swimmers!

14.01.2022 Breaststroke Arms Heres one the bigger kids can do. Show them the action slowly and get them to practice. Hands together out in front, ensure fingers together and hands flat like a paddle, pull hands back together to your chest, turn palms up like reading a book, shoot arms back out in front.

12.01.2022 Bath time is a great opportunity to encourage back floating with babies and toddlers to build their confidence on their back. Ensure only very little water is in the bath, always within hands reach and sit them up if uncomfortable or distressed.

06.01.2022 This is Jellybean. He is a 2 year old Male Guinea Pig. He is a friendly little guy and has been handled from young so is quite tame. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances his current owners can no longer give him the attention he deserves and so this little guy is looking for a new home. Someone whom will give him plenty of attention and love just as he deserves . He comes at no cost and will include his house and straw, food ect. If you are interested please speak with Hayley

05.01.2022 Toddler and Kindy-age Bath Time Here are some ideas for skills to practice for little ones at bath time or in the shower. Ensure the bath is only filled with a small amount of water and supervise at all times. Practice kicking, blowing bubbles and back floating.

05.01.2022 Miss Shinead is away again today, Miss Clare will be taking her classes. Thanks for your understanding.

05.01.2022 A great one to show the kids about the importance of safe entries into the pool.

04.01.2022 Freestyle Arms in Iso Heres something for the older kids to practice while in iso (as my kids call it). It doesnt need to be technically correct, its more about them having a go and practicing their skills while lessons arent on. Maybe ask them to do a few minutes every day. Heres what to do - Fingers together, hands like a flat paddle, pull one arm back, rotate around, stretch to reach sky, stretch forward to other arm, repeat with other side. Watch for more tips over the coming few weeks

04.01.2022 Cueing Baby at Home Heres the first of a series of videos we are doing for ideas you can implement at home while lessons arent running. This one is for cueing young babies in the bath or shower for parents and babies who have been to lessons and been taught this technique. Its important to keep this up so baby keeps their comfort with water over their face. Any questions, let us know

04.01.2022 And the Package was..... BAMBOOTY SWIM NAPPIES We are excited to announce that we will be selling reusable cloth swim nappies at our centre. We have partnered with Bambooty to get stock available for customers to purchase. Our aim is to minimise the waste going into landfill from our centre as well as provide these at a great price so they are affordable for you! We have some cool designs for boys and girls. We will send out information and put posters up in the centre when they are ready for purchase.
