24.01.2022 In the season of goodwill, the Kids on Collins team wanted to do something to help those less fortunate this Christmas. Our generous families and staff have spent the last month collecting food and self-care items to donate to the Salvation Army and we couldn’t be more grateful. For many families, this Christmas will be more financially challenging than most and we are so pleased that we can contribute to their wellbeing this festive season. Today the volunteer team from the Salvos came by to collect boxes and boxes of kindly donated goods that will be on their way to someone in need very soon.

22.01.2022 As we are coming to the end of the year, the children at ENCC have begun picking there vegetables that they planted and cared for earlier this Term. It took lots of muscles to pull and dig out but together the children were able to extract potatoes and carrots from the garden beds. Hopefully some more of our vegetables are ready to pick before the end of the year!

20.01.2022 No matter how old you are, everyone likes to have something nice said about them. This Christmas, we wanted the Centre to be filled with feel good vibes after a long and challenging year so we introduced The Nice List. Staff and families were invited to share a nice message about each other, their child or anyone involved in making Kids on Collins a special place. It has been so heart-warming to walk past the growing array of messages each day and see the love and gratitude everyone has for one another. Thank you to all of the children, staff and families for making Kids on Collins such a joyful place to be.

18.01.2022 Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas from all of the team at Laurimar Township. May you get plenty of presents and have a wonderful Christmas day celebrating with family and friends.

13.01.2022 Making important decisions isn’t just for grown-ups. Children make countless decisions that are important to them every single day. Here at Kids on Collins, the children are given respect, time and support to consider their options, make choices and explore the outcomes of their own ideas. Here we see Oliver deep in concentration as he carefully selects which craft items he will use to fill his Christmas bauble. Offering children choices helps them to feel empowered and cultivates their sense of value, as their thoughts and ideas are acknowledged and respected.

02.01.2022 What better way to spend a warm sunny morning than splashing around in some nice cool water. Our 4 year old Kinder group recently requested to have one last water play party before they all start to finish up for Christmas and head off to their respective schools in 2021. Of course their dedicated educators obliged. The squeals and laughter echoed high over Collins street as the children and educators all got involved in the activities. The children enjoyed a special picnic lunch together while taking in the fresh air and blue skies. We will really miss all of these incredible little people but wish them all the best as they move on to the next step of their schooling journey.
