24.01.2022 Our Christmas Make It Bake It Grow It Market was a success!! Thank you to everyone and all the stall vendors who came along today. We had some outstanding and unique stalls selling local handmade, homegrown and hand crafted produce. So many people walked away with stocking fillers, Christmas presents and gifts for family and friends this year, supporting local small businesses. We can't thank you all enough and we hope you enjoyed yourselves!! We plan to hold this market as a...n annual event in the future with consideration for a twilight or weekend market from feedback. If you missed the chance to attend today and are interested in buying some of the stall items, please send us a PM for the business details

24.01.2022 Sadly due to a few illnesses in members families, we have alot of people staying away from playgroup and no one to open up/close. We have therefore made the decision to cancel tomorrow's (Tues 17th March) session.

23.01.2022 In light of the concerns regarding COVID-19, we feel it is important that you exercise caution when you decide to come to playgroup. If you or your children are sick or recently ill, including a cough, runny nose or fever, we encourage you to please stay away. Please ensure regular hand washing, especially before meal times and after toileting or blowing noses/wiping faces.... At this current stage, will not be sharing fruit at playgroup and instead encourage you to bring your own food for your children. We understand if you choose to stay away from playgroup at this current time. We have not been issued with any instructions to yet cancel playgroup as we are a small gathering so we will continue to run sessions for those who want attend

17.01.2022 Exciting news! We have Megan from 'For The Love Of Dance' coming tomorrow to playgroup to bring some dancing fun for our kids. She runs a terrific program specifically designed for young children introducing them to dance. 10am to 12pm Gembrook Community Centre $5 per family

15.01.2022 ** NO PLAYGROUP FOR END OF TERM 1** Dear Playgroup members, In light of all the concerns with COVID-19 at current, and with the Australian Health Department highly encouraging social distancing for all non essential gatherings, we have decided to break up for the term holidays early. Little Gem's Playgroup will not be running this week. Many playgroups across the state are doing the same and we have the support of Playgroup Victoria.... We will reasses the health crisis situation over the holidays with whether to commence term 2 sessions or to delay them and we'll keep you informed. We wish you happy holidays over the Easter break. We'll be sharing holiday activities on this page that you can get involved in with your little ones during social distancing if you are interested. Entry is $5 per family and term fees are $35 if paid within the first 2 weeks ($40 thereafter). Dont forget to update to update and pay for your individual family Playgroup Victoria membership. Looking forward to an exciting year of fun play, crafts and adventures!

07.01.2022 Anzac Day Poppies All you need is egg cartons, paint, scissors, glue. Cut each individual egg carton hole out and shape the petals. Paint them red (or you can dip dye them in red food colouring). Use the spare inner peak parts of the cartons, paint them black and cut fringe-shapes to replicate the stamen of the flowers. Glue to inside of the petals and allow them to dry. Lastly, you can glue the flowers to sticks, foliage (lavender or rosemary) or to a large cardboard circl...e wreath dotted with greenery. 07.01.2022 Gembrook 'Little Gem's' playgroup is a fun, casual and non-structured environment for children 0-5 years of age. We are volunteer run meaning everyone helps out to set up for each session to run smoothly. There is so set structure with play, allowing the kids to use their imagination and have fun with the toys they want to play with while socialising with other children. We have wonderful craft officers who come up with fantastic creative activities each week, including celeb...rating themes. This is a great way for kids to get creative and messy without it being at your home! We also encourage alot of outdoor play at our wonderful private playground at the back of the hall, and sometimes enjoy a picnic, foraging for leaves and 'treasure', and digging in the sandpit. If you are interested in finding a relaxed environment where kids can be kids and play for 2hrs, allowing you to unwind in the company of other local mums, this is a great place to come to! New members welcome anytime. $5 casual visits for a family or $40 for the term. Tuesday's 10am- 12pm

05.01.2022 Hi little gem families, are you looking for something to help entertain your kid’s during isolation? Especially as the weather is getting colder and wetter outside. I came into playgroup in term 1 and run a little dance sessions and I am now offering free online dance sessions until I can open my school again safely . At the moment there are 6 sessions, with a new one coming each Monday Ice Princess Superhero’s Creative Movement... Teddy Bear Ballet Easter Bunny Dance along with me Due to my music license and insurance I am not allowed to publicly share these links, but can give them to individual people who have requested them. They are on youtube as unlisted so they cannot be searched for, you need the link. These sessions are totally free, but if you have the means and would like to there is a link provided to a very optional paypal donation. I'm aiming to have at least one published a week, but being mum to 3 littlies, distance learning plus everything else #mumlife is taking up a substantial amount of time at the moment!
