16.01.2022 Affirmation cards are a great way to start conversations with children about understanding their feelings and how to regulate their emotions during certain challenging moments. If you can’t get your hands on a set why not try to make them with your little ones by asking them these four questions: 1- What are you grateful for? 2- What can you do to make your day great?... 3- What kind of person do you want to be today? 4- How do you want to deal with all the big feelings you will experience today? With that you will have small little affirmations which you could make into small cards for daily use. See more

15.01.2022 Many parents ask us about behaviour management strategies. Here’s our top tips for you to try and implement. The key is to identify each behaviour individually and treat the root cause and it’s triggers one at a time rather than a holistic approach. Remember behaviours of concern most often come from emotional triggers and it’s commonly a sign of a child’s inability to express their emotion effectively. For specific tips and strategies contact us and we will provide you with one on one support specific to your child’s needs.

08.01.2022 A word of caution to parents who purchase this toy. As a parent to a girl I am appalled that this type of thing is legal to sell in the year 2020. I urge you to be extremely mindful of the message you are promoting with the purchase of this toy! I am shocked.

05.01.2022 As a mother and an educator I find it extremely important to inform our children about body safety and self preservation from the early years. I have found this book to be an absolute gem and highly recommend it for all parents and educators for kids aged 5 and up. It uses simple sentences and fun illustrations to discuss concepts of consent, grooming and body safety which opens up dialogue in a simple yet informative and age appropriate way. I have developed a parenting course on topics of body safety and age appropriate boundaries which will be running as of September 2020. Watch this space for more details.

04.01.2022 We are back with our first announced kids workshop for 2021. Kids survival workshop (due to COVIDSafe restrictions we are keeping this event indoors) Book a place fast as we have strict ratios to adhere to.... A must for all school aged children.

03.01.2022 Our children are developing their attachment styles to human connection from birth. The very first and most fundamental concept that is developed from birth is the concept of Trust and Mistrust. By meeting the most basic care requirements of the infant through affection, love and providing them a safe and secure environment little infants register the notion of trust in their brains and this then becomes the foundation of all the future human relationships further down the tr...ack of life. As parents how do you ensure you nurture the positive stages of development rather than the opposite? When we place unrealistic expectations on them we are in fact feeding the negative aspects of the stage of development. When we allow them to be and guide them through reasonable rules and through guidance we nurture the positive attributes of development as shown in the diagram. No child is born with the concept of Guilt, Shame or inferiority, these concepts are simply learnt behaviours through our parenting strategies.

It was a huge hit and we will definitely be doing this as a regular event. Happy Wednesday everyone.

03.01.2022 Children need rules and guidance as an essential part of developing emotional and social intelligence however we must be mindful not to create a fear based parenting strategy. We can work with you one on one to provide you with support and resources that meet your needs as a parent to help your children thrive on all levels.

02.01.2022 Deciding to get us a little pup has been the best decision. Pets are an amazing way to teach children responsibility, compassion, patience and empathy. What we love most about our little Ella is that she always knows when one of us is needing extra cuddles. Pets can be extremely therapeutic for our little ones.
