25.01.2022 Today Kindy Blue created an ocean from shaving foam and blue paint. Treasure and shells were added to the box to encourage the children to explore and share their thinking about what they might find at the bottom of the ocean. This is a great sensory experience that creates an environment for sharing, respecting other peoples ideas and engaging in more meaningful conversations with our peers. Plus its messy and a lot of fun to squish between your fingers!

24.01.2022 Kindy Blue enjoyed their teddy bear picnic in the side garden where they got to enjoy a teddy biscuit and have an ice block. Our teddies had a great day learning all the things we do in Kindy Blue.

23.01.2022 Wishing all our families a wonderful weekend, as we all celebrate and give thanks for our Mum's (in whatever way we are able!) HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

22.01.2022 "Where does it Grow?" Pre Kindy are learning about healthy eating which is ventured into learning about where our fruit and vegetables come from. Does it grow on a vine? Does it grow on a tree? Does it grow in the ground?... Pre Kindy use a picture wall to match the fruit and vegetables with the tree, vine or ground See more

22.01.2022 What do we do with a piece of string in Junior Kindy? This is a great activity to develop fine motor skills, when we lift the string up and down to make patterns on the paper. We love being creative, waiting our turn and having great conversations in a one-to-one setting.

22.01.2022 Our Mother's Day stall is open. We love seeing the children’s happy faces as they experience shopping for their mummy’s. If you wish to participate, please find an envelope in your child’s pocket/pigeon hole for you to collect. Instead of adding $5 to your account, this year we ask you to place $5 in the envelope for your child to go shopping. If you are not attending care at this time, please feel free to pop in with $5 to participate in our shopping experience.

20.01.2022 * An Important Message from the Queensland Government LOOK BEFORE YOU LOCK! Leaving children unattended in a vehicle can result in serious injury or death. The temperature inside a parked vehicle on a typical Australian summer day can be up to 30 degrees hotter than the outside temperature. In as little as 5 minutes, the temperature in a vehicle can reach dangerous levels.... The impact of heat on a child's body is almost immediate and can be fatal. A child's body temperature rises three to 5 times faster than an adult's, placing them at greater risk of life-threatening heat stroke, brain injury, heart and lung failure and dehydration. A child left unaccounted for in a vehicle is also unprotected and vulnerable to danger, particularly in an emergency situation. It only takes one shortcut on safety to have devastating, lifelong consequences. Tips for families: Create a 'Look Before You Lock' routine. Building simple steps into your daily routine can help lower the risk of unintentionally leaving a child in a vehicle: * Place an item you will need at your destination in the back seat of the car, such as your bag or wallet. * Attach a mirror for rear facing car seats so you can easily see your child. * Create a mental checklist to run through every time you leave the car, such as 'baby, keys, bag'. * Get in the habit of checking your backseat every time you get out of the car. Check even if you know your child is not with you. This will help make looking before you lock part of your normal routine. * Look Before you lock. Every time. Without fail. * Discuss your 'Look Before You Lock' routine with every person who drives your child anywhere. This includes partners, grandparents, babysitters, and friends. Be extra alert if your routine changes. The risk of unintentionally leaving a child increases with a change in routine. Importantly, if you accidentally lock your child in a car or you come across a child left unattended in a vehicle: Keep calm Think clearly and act quickly Call your roadside assistance provider if you have one Call 000 immediately if you have any concerns about the child's health.://youtu.be/4Ng6N5pMc2Q

19.01.2022 This morning Kindy Blue got to explore movement, rhythm and beats as we followed Mrs Lang's instructions in our weekly music class. We sang about rain falling on different parts of our bodies, we hit the drums to the beat and really enjoyed playing the hokey pokey where we had to put in our tongues and our bottoms

19.01.2022 In Kindy Blue we are looking at our country and since we love to build, we checked out at the Story Bridge. We looked at photos of the bridge and as a group, discussed what we could see and how it was made. Then using Popsicle sticks, small plastic cups and Lego, we made some bridges of our own that needed to go over our rocky blue stone river. The children used their imagination, creativity and persistence to create their own unique designs either alone or in small groups.

19.01.2022 Pre Kindy have been taking turns being the patient and then the doctor today

17.01.2022 "Sea of Hands" is an iconic symbol of reconciliation and way for communities all around Australia to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Issues and Events. The Pre Kindy children had so much fun making our "hands" in the colours of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags to plant in support of reconciliation. The Sea of Hands now welcomes families from our garden at the Little Genesis entrance, by recognising identities, cultures and history!

11.01.2022 Kindy Gold Oranges were very excited to be celebrating Book Week this week! Children were invited to wear free dress and some children chose to dress up as their favourite book character. Many children brought their favourite books in to share with their friends and we particularly enjoyed looking at each child’s favourite page. As a class, we have been exploring books and fairytales and many children have enjoyed the addition of the castle to our roleplay area. We loved reading the story, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ and decided to plant some seeds, hoping to grow our own beanstalks. We also enjoyed the story, ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’ and extended on this story by having fun in the sensory tub filled with oats and glitter.

06.01.2022 As Kindy Gold Lemons have been exploring our environment this term, focusing on the ocean, and we decided as a class to explore the mud. As a class we went round to the side yard into the mud kitchen and enjoyed digging big holes, finding worms and ‘cooking’. 01.01.2022 Do you have a child aged 1-5 years? COVID-19 Unmasked is a new online survey inviting Australian parents to help QLD Health learn how children and families are being affected by the current pandemic. Children thrive on structure and routine and feeling that the world is predictable and makes sense. All the disruption and uncertainty caused by COVID-19, and the loss of the usual supports, has been extra unsettling and challenging for many children and families. However, QL...D Health still know very little about how disruptive community events, like pandemics and natural disasters, affect the mental health and emotional wellbeing of babies and pre-schoolers over the long-term. The information they gain from this project will be shared with parents, educators and health-care services so they can provide better support now and into the future. Please click here to have your say: is.gd/covid19_unmasked See more
