18.01.2022 The last 2 weeks we have been busy running our brand new workshop Planning for Sustainability in the Early Years with the support of the City of Cockburn and City of Canning. We had such a fantastic time connecting with amazing educators and teachers who have some very exciting plans to improve and embed sustainability in their setting with their children. There was so many fantastic ideas and we are excited to continue to help them on their journey. We were also excited to launch our SUSTAINABILITY AUDIT SHEETS which helped our participants plan the areas of the Social Handprint and Ecological Footprint they wanted to focus on. You can now GET A COPY of these audit sheets on our website or if you are a member log in and you will find them there to help you plan. https://littlegreenstepswa.org.au//planning-for-sustainab/

18.01.2022 Check out the gorgeous dolls the wonderful educator Sylvia from Cockburn Family Day Care Educators created using this beautiful Noongar Seasons poster. A big THANKS to the City of Cockburn for giving over 50 Noongar language posters to our Cockburn Early Years Educators. They are now displayed proudly in so many Early Years Centres and used on a daily basis to embed Noongar language and culture into every child's learning. You can also see that Sylvia has added her children's birthdays to the poster. If you would like to add one of these beautiful posters to your setting you can purchase them from SERCUL https://www.sercul.org.au/noongarposters/ #southeastregionalcentreforurbanlandcare, #thecityofcockburn #cockburnfamilydaycareeducators

09.01.2022 We'd like to thank everyone at the Walliston Primary School Pre-Kindy Playgroup for an enjoyable day! Teresa and Aruba (one of our residents) are seen here, tea...ching the children about echidnas . Aruba has just enjoyed a small snack (she normally gets her special echidna meal around sunset), so that the children can see how echidnas forage for ants and termites in the wild. Kanyana's Education Team does a huge amount of work behind the scenes, teaching schools, community groups and organisations about our unique Western Australian wildlife . They offer several excursions linked to the Australian Curriculum for students K-Y7 and Y10-12, as well as incursions and professional learning services. If you would like to find out more about booking an excursion, incursion, market stall or tour for your school or community group, please visit us at https://bit.ly/38ZOhNe.
