21.01.2022 THIS MAN For those of you who are coming to see us today you’ll be meeting this man - Sean my husband and best friend. I’m not very well and can’t be in the shop - I’ve been away since Tuesday. With a fully booked Saturday in store he stepped up to the plate and is spending his weekend busy making popcorn, meeting and greeting, sweeping hair, tidying up, chatting with customers and generally keeping all of the plates spinning. Adding to the drama today one of our hairdresse...rs didn’t turn up for her shift which has meant that he has been dropped in it - big time. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to not be there, I’ve been busy behind the scenes pulling in favours left right and centre, I now not only owe Sean a beer, but I am indebted to Kylie and Brooke for rising to today’s challenge, my very good friends Claire and Brad and of course all of our kind, generous customers who have been very understanding and patient with us this morning. So thank you all from the very bottom of my heart, it certainly does take a village and I couldn’t do any of this without you all Love Jo

21.01.2022 This dog you won’t believe what happened today - we lost Tilly Yep for nearly two hours. We’d had a busy morning - lovely customers, great vibes going on, fun Friday all was good in our little world. We were finishing up for the morning when we noticed Tilly wasn’t to be found. The shop’s not big right? We looked out the back and in her usual little spots - nope nowhere to be seen. So we thought she’d taken herself off to see one of her fav peeps Teesh from @mollieandb...earboutique (she likes going in there ) nope not there. So then we start to panic. Kylie, myself, Teesh and the guys from @coffeetabledelights start pounding the streets and local parks - no joy. I phone the Rangers, we inform the local police station, we start putting calls out on local Facebook groups, nothing. I drive round further afield, heading back home thinking she may have somehow taken herself there. NOTHING. I was crying, stressed, worried and playing all kinds of awful scenarios out in my head (it also doesn’t help not thinking straight when you’ve been awake since 3am, you’ve not had anything to eat for 18 hours and it’s 35 degrees) I had resigned myself to the fact that someone had either taken her or she’d been injured by a car. I go back to the shop pretty upset. In an act of desperation I call out her name and low and behold I heard a scratching from inside one of our cupboards yep she had got herself shut in. I CANNOT tell you the relief. Moral of the story - you can’t go through life without a great support network, get lots of sleep, don’t try and spin too many plates and think logically. Oh and check cupboards So glad this story has a happy ending, we love you Tilly

Thank you @lovedbyemily for working with us on our photoshoot a couple of months back, it was an absolute pleasure and I’m sure you’ll agree the results are amazing, I can’t wait for this little face to be on our new website launching soon. But first we are bracing ourselves for crazy January (so not so serene ) with all the back to school cuts we’ll be doing. 18.01.2022 CAPTION THIS One of the kids today had left Buzz Lightyear doing an impression of his good ol' pal Sheriff Woody and I don't think he's very amused I’ve been meaning to do a post about these guys, having watched and loved all of the @toystory movies, when I decided to recruit Buzz and Woody to the Little Herberts team, I couldn’t help but whisper ‘sorry guys’ as I put them on the table ... So far so good. I am looking after them I promise. They do have a good life here, they’re much loved by the kids and they’ve made lots of friends with the other toys including our big T-Rex, fire breathing dragon and Steggie. Plus they do such a good job at helping those anxious little ones to get over the line. So what do you think Buzz is really saying to his buddies? 17.01.2022 So we were in the West Australian yesterday - woohoo!! Lovely write up from Jessie Stoel and sat alongside some very good company including our besties @glamournailbar and @clawlicious_ We’re busy getting ready for the school hols, if you’ve been thinking about booking the kids in for their pamper, you might want to get in now as spots are filling up fast over the next couple of weeks.... 16.01.2022 RANDOM NUMBER But a significant one I think. Since we opened our doors nearly 2 years ago we have cut 601 first haircuts I was planning on shouting this from the rooftops when we hit 500 but that was just before Christmas and we were so busy and I was so time poor I didn't get the chance , I can’t believe how we’ve added another 101 first haircuts in such a short space of time but we have and I’m over the moon. Still never quite satisfied, the competivness in me now ca...n’t wait until we hit 1000 If you know of a little person who needs to get their haircut and you’d love for them to have a really lovely experience then feel free to recommend us to your friends, or if it’s for your little herbert then pop on over to our online booking system and select ‘Child’s first haircut’ it’s $35 and includes before and after photos, a personalised certificate and we save and package up a lock of their hair. 15.01.2022 This lovely duo regularly drive 53kms from their home to ours to have a haircut - this blows my mind! And they’re not on their own, so many of you guys come from far and wide happy to drive over an hour in some cases. ‘Why’s that?’ you might ask. Well, chatting to our families who make the pilgrimage the feedback we get is that it is so worth spending the time to come to us for their kids’ haircuts because we make it so much easier for them - both the kids and in turn the par...ents. We’ve developed a reputation over the last 18 months that this is a safe and nurturing environment, it’s usually calm and friendly and this makes the kids feel less anxious about their haircuts. Plus they remember the toys, the iPad and the gift and popcorn at the end. So many kids now refuse to get their haircut anywhere else and many more cry and get upset when it’s time to leave - which is a nice problem to have I think. 13.01.2022 IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR We love it when all of the family come into the shop especially for those all important first haircuts, it’s a special thing to be a part of that’s for sure. What you don’t see in these photos unfortunately is that Nanna and Pops came too. We think this little guy looks pretty cool with his new hair do.... If your kids need a trim, tidy up, first haircut or just a pamper hop on over to our online booking system or call, text or DM us and we’ll do our best to fit you in. I've been having lots of conversations with lots of you over the past couple of months and I've been promising to run another braiding workshop, sorry it's taken me a little longer than I had planned to organise, but I'm very happy to be sneaking this in just before the Easter weekend. Come and join us for an hour of fun and learning, perfect for those complete novices who are all fingers and t...humbs we'll untangle your hands and give you the techniques you need so that you can go away and practice at becoming an expert braider. Afternoon tea and refreshments are included in the price, we'll provide some drawing and creative activities for the kids to do while you're playing with their hair - that's right you bring the 'model' and we'll do the rest Head on over to the @eventbrite site to purchase tickets. 07.01.2022 Schools Out I don’t know about your household but our boys are pretty excited about the school holidays, we’ve been chatting to a few mums this week about how busy term 3 has been. We love the school hols here at LH as we get to see lots of our lovely regular girls who all book in to see us every 10 weeks for their wash, cut and styles. We’re going to be pretty busy which is great. In fact we’re fully booked for tomorrow, but very happy to say that we have an extra pair of h...ands in the salon, so will be ready to take all of those last minute phone calls to fit in all of the haircuts. So if you’re keen to get your kids’ hair trimmed and cut this weekend, and thought you’d missed the boat booking an appointment make sure you give us a call and we’ll do our best to fit you in with our new hairdresser Stephanie.
