22.01.2022 Fun fact: did you know a swarm of ladybugs is called a ‘Loveliness’? Does that mean I get to work with a loveliness of children each day when I’m with the Busy Beetles?

21.01.2022 It is a stressful time for all humans at the moment, big and small. Just remember little ones show their stress in (ironically) stressful ways which may be triggering to their adult carers. If you are finding it hard to cope in these times and seeing these kinds of behaviours in your little ones just know it is normal and it will pass. We are here to support you so speak with your child’s educators for tips on getting through these tough times.

18.01.2022 Please be aware and stay safe - staff member at Astley Medical Centre in St Mary’s tested positive for COVID-19.

15.01.2022 Please be aware and be vigilant. If you or your child visited these locations on Sunday 4th October please get testing for coronavirus - symptoms may not appear for a few days so don’t take the risk. Let’s keep our little kids and community safe!

04.01.2022 HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY TO THE LITTLE KIDS SCHOOL GLENMORE PARK! On this day 6 years ago Mr Harri and Miss Marion opened the doors to our beautiful little centre. Since then we have made our quaint little centre into a beautiful boutique home away from home! We are so happy to be a part of our community and hold the hundreds of children we have cared for in our hearts forever.

03.01.2022 We had so much fun today at our Easter Hat Parade and going for a Bunny Hunt! We wish you all a safe and fun-filled Easter break - don’t forget we will be closed on Friday 2nd and Monday 5th April! When we return in term 2 we will start preparations for Bush Kinder!

01.01.2022 Today was our first day of school of rock and boy did the children enjoy themselves. We learnt about rhythm and how this keeps the beat to each song you sing. Mr Harri handed out his home made rhythm sticks to all of the children so we could practice clapping them in time. We used technology on the smart board to visually learn when to make the beats and it helped to captivate the children’s attention. We even made some beats using different notes which we called crocodil...e for a single note (breve) and quack quack for a double note (semibreve). We played a call and response game whereby I made a rhythm and then the children copied me. Azaliah and mr Harri also had a turn and the children all waited patiently for their turn to play. We then watched an Aboriginal corroboree where they were using clapping sticks along with the didgeridoo and dancing children. The children really enjoyed week 1 so we will continue our school of rock with a new topic next Monday! See more

01.01.2022 Make sure you have your four-year-old’s eyesight checked before they start school because this is an important time to detect and treat any potential problems a...ffecting their vision, some of which could impact their school performance and development. Because children rarely complain of eye problems and often don’t realise they can’t see properly, the only way to tell if your child has a vision problem is to have their eyesight tested. It’s vital to have your 4-year-old child’s eyesight tested to detect potential problems so they can receive appropriate diagnosis and if required treatment. The earlier that a vision problem is detected, the better the chance of successful early intervention, preventing future vision problems or even permanent sight loss. Your child’s vision can be tested for free by the NSW Health Statewide Eyesight Preschooler Screening program better known as StEPS. StEPS screeners visit preschools and early childhood education centres. Your child can also have their vision tested at a local catchup StEPS clinic, at a NSW Health Child and Family Health service or with your GP.
