These are her lashes right before her 3 week fill appointment. We had just done a lash bath and as you can see, her lashes are still nice, full and well attached. Lash retention is a 50/50 relationship between lash artist & client. It is the artists responsibility to ensure correct environment, placement, high quality products and safe lash ...weights. It is the client's responsibility to cleanse them daily with an approved lash cleanser, avoid any type of oil, not apply makeup directly onto them and refrain from touching them. Her lashes were quite brittle to start with and super fine, however with a little TLC of her natural lashes and some strategic mapping, we are now getting a little extra volume with every fill. Maximum 4d for now. I am very passionate about lash care. I will not apply lashes that are too long or heavy for the natural lash to support.... A client may ask for 15d mega volume when they walk through the door, but if the natural lashes are at risk of damage then I will politely decline. I will however stagger the layers and map accordingly to give the appearance of as much density and volume as I possibly can for them, while we work on strengthening their natural lashes to work towards their desired outcome. By taping back every layer and strategically placing varying lengths and dimensions in your map, you can achieve a more dramatic look. Think of when you go to the hair dresser, layering the hair looks so much fuller than one length all over.... Even if a client only has 3 or 4 natural lashes on their middle layer, lash it. It will make the world of difference
