25.01.2022 How many ways can you spell the sound //? Quite a few! Our Chitter Chatter Chants are great mnemonics for learning the most common letter-sound correspondences. Take a look at our videos on our YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch

24.01.2022 Our Stage 7 TARs are now just $25 to download - we hope this helps during remote learning. Get in touch if you have any Stage 7 questions for us

24.01.2022 Whether you are at home or in the classroom, why not try Read, Write and Draw? This neat box will get children practising both reading AND writing, whilst catering for different levels of confidence and ability too through selections of words, phrases and sentences across 3 LLLL Stages. Find out more on our YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/giFL454y6nI

22.01.2022 Congratulations to NSW! How lucky are they to have a Minister of Education who is well informed about teaching children to read and spell.

21.01.2022 Learning online ... it's becoming the new norm, isn't it? Whilst we miss meeting colleague in person, we are so pleased with how our online professional learning workshops are going! Last week we worked with teachers in several states and New Zealand - such a great group! You can book in on the link below (and do get in touch if you have any questions). Look forward to seeing you there! https://events.littlelearnersloveliteracy.com.au/event-de/ Oh, and also you will receive a gorgeous pack of resources in the post to use on the day too!

17.01.2022 Exciting news that SOLAR are offering this introductory online short course on the science of language and reading. I would highly recommend it to everyone as Prof Pamela Snow and Associate Professor Tanya Serry are able to break down these topics so that you will gain an understanding to support your teaching of language and literacy in the classroom.

15.01.2022 When we released our new decodable series in 2019 - the Wiz Kids, I had no idea Viv's story would be an analogy of the situation in Melbourne today. Here is Viv in the story Pop - her life is out of control with the lid popping off the vat. What a disaster! Melbourne has just been declared a 'state of disaster'. Don't ever say that decodable books are boring or not real stories!

15.01.2022 New professional learning dates to see us through 2020 Our workshops continue to take place online - and we are loving it! We have had colleagues from all over Australia and New Zealand join us - thank you! https://events.littlelearnersloveliteracy.com.au/

15.01.2022 Thank you Annie for another great video. I love it when children say to me ... but that isn't a heart word. Not any longer, as you know the code.

12.01.2022 As we are based in Melbourne, this workshop is scheduled for AEST zone. We love having educators from around Australia and New Zealand join us for our two day training. You will receive two workbooks, LLLL resources such as Sound Swap, Pip and Tim decodable books, and a My Word Detective book to make the session as interactive as possible.

09.01.2022 What phoneme does the grapheme s represent? In Little Learners Love Literacy we use Sally snake for the mnemonic, however, sometimes Sally is snoozing and her phoneme changes to /z/ in high frequency words such as has, is. Also, when adding a plural s - dogs. Children need to be phonemically aware of the change of phoneme. They need to ask the question - Is Sally snoozing?

09.01.2022 The Reading League’s latest initiative!

07.01.2022 Our free assessment tool, the LLARS, has been updated to include non-words in the single word reading section. Simple to use to drill down into grapheme-phoneme knowledge, single word decoding, unseen decodable text. Join us for a short webinar on October 14th for more information and to ask any questions. https://littlelearnersloveliteracy.com.au/assessment/

07.01.2022 Reading and laughing at the same time! The benefit of using explicit phonics teaching.

06.01.2022 The first day of Term 3 remote learning in Melbourne and we thought parents would appreciate some help. We have put together two book packs for the LLLL Stages Plus 4, 5 & 6 at very special COVID Mk 2 prices. Stage Plus 4 is my favourite teaching stage as it consolidates the simple code, and moves on to teaching two letters, one sound (ff, ll, ss) and morphology - adding the suffix s. A free Read and Grab word game is included with each pack. See your child's reading leap forward with our engaging decodable books. https://littlelearnersloveliteracy.com.au/learn-play-at-ho/

06.01.2022 Our COVID-19 sale ends on Monday 12th October as students head back to school in Victoria. Although we had these special packs of the Pip and Tim books as well as the Wiz Kids on sale for parents, many schools have also taken advantage. Decodable books are 'our secret ingredient' for reading success. https://littlelearnersloveliteracy.com.au/learn-play-at-ho/

06.01.2022 Great news! The Teacher Activity Resource for Stage 7 Unit 4 DIGITAL download is available online.
