25.01.2022 Every second Thursday we go to Yoga, so much fun! The children get so excited to go and get so much out of it. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves.

25.01.2022 The last couple of weeks we have been focusing on our environment and clean up Australia Day! Lots of fun activities and learning going on here! :-)

22.01.2022 This week we have been learning about the life cycle of a frog. We have tadpoles we check on each day to see if there are any changes and compare them to the pictures in our book we are reading. Today the children made some frogs and tadpoles out of an egg carton and we also got to touch one of the green tree frogs we have.

22.01.2022 These kids make me laugh everyday. Photos started off cute and sweet and then went a little crazy. Can you work out who the culprit is?? :-)

21.01.2022 Today I taught the children how to do foiling. It's such a great craft to teach children because they can be involved in all parts of the activity! Draw a picture, cut out foil, feed through machine and pull foil off to discover the master piece :-)

21.01.2022 We are collecting stickers from Woolworths Earn and Learn promotion. This is our first year participating and would love to collect as many as possible! Little Monkey's Family Day Care has a box at Seaford and Seaford Meadows, the one with the monkey on it :-) Thank you for your support!

20.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago we got a new LCD microscope, the children have loved looking at their fingerprints and discovering what else they can look at closely. We have had a number of follow on experiences like making fingerprint pictures, making our own microscope (cup, glad wrap, rubber band and water) and making a magnifying box.

19.01.2022 One of the best things about daycare is the children being able to experience little outings, even just heading to the shops is a great community experience.

19.01.2022 We have been busy over the past week, lots of activities at home and some community outings to playgroup and another educators house.

19.01.2022 The last couple of weeks the children were making their Mother's Day gifts. Hand prints, shopping for flowers at Bunnings and planting the flowers. They all did an amazing job and the mums loved them :-)

19.01.2022 This week the children have helped me clean up the outside area and change it around. We brought some large tubs to have individual play in from time to time. This gives the children some time to play with an activity by themself. It is also teaching them to wait patiently and take turns.

18.01.2022 This week I set up a hair/beauty salon, as a follow on experience for one of the children. They all loved it! Each child enjoyed different activities and role playing together.

18.01.2022 Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, we have been busy with Christmas activities and lots of outings. The children have also made presents for parents, which I will post after Christmas to keep it a surprise :-)

15.01.2022 Today we needed to replace our rice in the rice sensory box. The children enjoyed colouring the rice and putting it out to dry. We followed on by dying milk and painting bread, the children were very creative and talked about the colours they were using.

14.01.2022 First week back, they all missed each other so much. We got straight back into it making play-doh, flying kites, cooking scrolls, playing games and lots more! Looking forward to fun times and plenty of adventures this year with these children :-)

12.01.2022 Hope everyone had a great Father's Day. The children were busy making cards and a nuts and bolts snack for their dad's over the last couple of weeks :-)

04.01.2022 Today Julianne's and Sarah's Family Day Care came over to celebrate Naidoc Week with us. We started with - Singing the Kaurna welcome song - Looking at artifacts from Mimili Community in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands in South Australia. Baskets, wooden artifacts, paintings, necklaces, spear and more! - play-doh with natural material - Sorting rocks into the flag colours.... - Baking cookies - Painting our hands - Searching for Wittchery Grubs - Making snakes - Making sensory bottles So much more! The day was packed full of activities, the children had so much fun!

03.01.2022 Hi all Just wanted to say a big Thank you to everyone who helped collect stickers from Woolworths for the earn and learn. We have a total of 9060! :-) Looking at getting these, plus some other bits and pieces.

03.01.2022 Lots of little adventures this week! Play n fun, Dance Class and Woolworths tour. The children get so much out of these little outings - Community involvement, physical exercise, education on healthy eating, building on friendships with other daycares and so much more.

02.01.2022 The children love cooking, so last week they cooked sausage rolls for dinner for their families. They took turns and had a go at it all :-) Along the way they learnt about safety with knifes and being careful around hot pans. Taking ownership and being proud of their achievement.
