23.01.2022 Today the children demonstrated turn taking and worked together in a group to make our own errupting Volcano! The children manipulated the Play dough around the bottle and added trees and other objects. They showed patience skills as they took turns to measure and pour. The celebrated their success when the volcano erupted! What’s Happening? The vinegar and bi-carb cause a chemical reaction. This reaction produces a gas called carbon dioxide, which fizzes and bubbles thro...ugh the liquid. Did you know Molten rock has two different names. If it is underground we call it magma. Once it has erupted and is above the ground we call it lava. Real lava is made from melted rocks. It heats up deep underground, and the rocks turn into lava, just like the way ice turns into water. Pumice stone is volcanic rock with air bubbles trapped inside. The air inside gives it a low density, and it floats in water. 16.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM Tracey Brock Hi everyone, It is with a heavy heart that I tell you of my resignation as a Family Day Care Educator. My last day of work as an Educator will be Wednesday 24 April 2019. ... While I am looking forward to exploring new opportunities, I will always fondly remember my time caring for children over past 19 years. I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to care for so many children and be connected to so many families throughout my time as an Educator; I will cherish these times forever. I know I will look back fondly on my all memories and as much as I will miss the children and families I know that we will stay connected. I have been fortunate to of been registered with a wonderful FDC scheme Wesley Mission Queensland who have been an unbelievable support of myself and my business over the past years. The great people at Wesley are passionate and committed to the future of Family Day Care. I am not planning on leaving the FDC community, I don’t think I ever could as I am way to passionate about it. Starting my new journey I will be using my skills and experience to help educators improve their businesses and assist new educators in establishing themselves. I will also continue to Admin the Documenting in FDC page where I will have even more time to share ideas and information. Through my consultancy business I plan to mentor and support Educators. I also plan on selling FDC resources and FDC support material online. I am also open to exploring new ventures, so message me if you would like to discuss any new ideas. Lastly I promise this, I will continue to advocate strongly for the rights of educators and families. I want to ensure Family Day Care is a viable option now and into the future for many generations to come.
