16.01.2022 At Little Royals we love creating unique gardening spaces to teach children about nature, gardening and respecting their environment. We feel it’s important for children have a safe and secure place where they feel comfortable, thrive and flourish in their surroundings. Enjoy these photos from the weekend. We hope our Little Royal families and educators enjoy their new spaces. We now have mandarin and lemon trees, a lovely trees lined space for privacy and additional shade ...from the street side, an extended soft fall area, retractable hoses for the children as they love to water their vegetable and herb gardens, beautiful jasmine climbers to grow and cover the tee pee, additional climbers to the Jnr Kinder outdoor area, some evergreens for our Spoonville community, a native bottle brush (for the children to do art and craft) and more assortments of colour throughout our car park. Nothing but the best for our Little Royal children and community to enjoy. We do have another surprise coming. Stay tuned... #homeawayfromhome #creatingcalmandinvitingspaces See more

15.01.2022 What better way to celebrate the history and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples this NAIDOC Week than Indigenous cuisine? Some delicious food coming out of our kitchen this week from our Chef was the children’s favourite Wattleseed and Orange biscuits, Outback Bush Chicken Curry and Lemon Myrtle Slice. Our Little Royals give it a big thumbs up. Yummo!

07.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK 2020 Today the children have started the celebration of NAIDOC week. NAIDOC week is held in celebration of the aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders history and culture. This years theme is ‘Always was, always will be’. We started with the acknowledgement of the country as well as discussing what each colour on the Aboriginal flag represents during our daily circle time. The children also participated in a variety of activities such as wrapping the w...ool around the tree in Aboriginal flag colours to extend their understanding of the Aboriginal culture, Aboriginal flag pastings, creating a wall mural and learning about Aboriginal symbols and their meanings. These experiences all illustrate how children are connected with and contribute to their world. We will continue our NAIDOC celebrations all week.

06.01.2022 Road Safety Week Celebrating National Road Safety Week today which honours those that have lost and pledges to make the roads safer for everyone. This morning the Nursery enjoyed the fresh air and rode their bikes outside. We talked about the similarities and the differences of parts that a car/bike have such as wheels, seats, and steering. We also discussed the purpose of what each one was for. Around the outdoor space, we set up multiple traffic objects, signs a...nd lights which are similar to what they may see when driving around. Miss Taneal talked about the different colours and their meanings. Green means go, orange means wait and red means stop! The children thoroughly enjoyed driving through the boom gate, as it lifted up and down each time they passed. The children were intrigued with using the petrol pump, pressing the buttons and filling up the tank. Gulp gulp gulp. As children grow and develop, it is important to teach the children about road safety early so they can become increasingly aware of how they can manage their own safety, determine and be responsible for their own risks and become safer road users as they grow. Well done Nursery Room
