We are looking for staff in various roles across our businesses on Kangaroo Island: Adventure Tour Guides: Experienced ‘Adventure Tour Guide’ to work at Little Sahara and Vivonne Bay, leading guided tours on quad bikes, buggies, fat bikes and kayaks. Ongoing employment and seasonal work during school/uni holidays. Junior ‘Eco-Adventure Assistants’ at both Little Sahara and Vivonne Bay to help our guides preparing for tours and cleaning equipment, providing information to customers. Weekends and School Holidays. Retail/Sales: Experienced ‘Retail/Sales Assistant’ to work at Little Sahara, greeting customers, providing information and ensuring visitors have the most memorable experience possible. Ongoing employment and seasonal work during school/uni holidays. A second ‘Retail/Sales Assistant’ is also required at our sister company ‘Island Beehive’. Working in our honey and gift shop in Kingscote, greeting customers, sharing the Ligurian Bee story and helping customers with product selection. Production: Enthusiastic and reliable person for ‘Honey Production’. Primarily to help with packing and labelling of honey and production of wax candles for sale in the Island Beehive shop, but will also assist with extraction of honey. Casual hours as required to meet demand. Experienced ‘Beekeeper’. Experience in all aspects of organic hive management, honey production and queen breeding. HR truck licence preferred. Admin: ‘Bookkeeper’ for KI Outdoor Action with experience using Xero for up to 8 hours/week. Work could be done remotely and would suit school hours. Each role requires slightly different skills, however overall we are looking for staff who are: Physically fit and can work quickly in a busy environment Team players who can take ownership of what they bring to the team Passionate about the outdoors and what Kangaroo Island has to offer A fun loving ‘can do’ attitude These casual positions are up to 37 hours per week (depending on the role), pay rates in-line with the relevant award. Our magnificent manager Sophie has been working here for 3 years now and has fallen in love with this beautiful island. Here’s what she has to say about it: ... ‘My favourite thing about living on KI is the encounters you have with wildlife. Almost every day I have a wow moment in nature whether it be watching a seal swim in the waves as I walk along the beach, an Osprey dive down to catch a fish in front of me as I kayak, surfing with dolphins, or watching an echidna waddle along the side of the road. In summer my favourite activity outside of work is riding an e-bike to hang out at Little Sahara private beach (you can visit this on our Sand & Surf Buggy Tour). In winter I love the drive from Western River Cove to Stokes Bay via Snellings, the green rolling hills, awesome yacca flower displays, cliffs and turquoise waters is stunning!’ Sophie loves working at Little Sahara because she loves giving people an awesome experience, helping others see the same beauty she sees on the island and fostering an appreciation for nature which is crucial for it’s protection as well as being great for individuals health and well-being.

He is excited about sharing the wonders of the rugged yet beautiful landscapes and ecological communities on the island, through the means of fun and exploration. Being an avid adventurer, this is his dream job in paradise! Here is what Matt has to say about life on Kangaroo Island: ‘I am excited that I get to live somewhere that people only get to visit for... holidays. The community is warm and welcoming, and the natural wonders will never cease to amaze. When I am not working I love going for a cruise to one of the many pristine beaches around the Island and seeing abundant wildlife. I'm also keen for the reopening of Kelly Hill Caves. When I am at work the best part is welcoming guests to the astounding environment that I call my office.
