23.01.2022 GIVE ME 5 FOR KIDS!!! In conjunction with Southern Cross Austereo and the GIVE ME 5 FOR KIDS appeal, Little Saints Early Learning Centre is collecting donations of toys for the Warragul and Traralgon Childrens Hospital Wards. With our Centres based in Gippsland Im sure there are multiple families that have needed the assistance of one of these hospitals and we think this is a great way for us to give something small back.... We do ask due to hygiene reasons all toys donated are NEW and in their original packaging. We will collect any donations and then present them to the Hospital in the weeks to come. If you have any questions please dont hesitate to speak to your Centre Director. Please check out www.giveme5forkids.com.au for further information about the appeal.
23.01.2022 VICTORIAN CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER MESSAGE TO PARENTS I am writing to Victorian parents, carers and students today to seek every familys support in slowing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Victoria. As the school holidays approach, we cant ease up on looking after ourselves and our families. The only thing between us and a second wave is what we do next. Wherever you go, please be mindful of the risks. Be aware others may be carrying the virus and practice physical dist...ancing. We are currently experiencing the highest case numbers weve seen in more than two months. Current evidence suggests that the rise in case numbers in Victoria is being driven by families having get-togethers and not following advice around physical distancing and hygiene. Unfortunately, we are still in a pandemic and peoples lives are still at risk. As weve seen across the world, this virus has the ability to turn a small number of cases into hundreds in a matter of days. This is not where we want to be and we must all act now while we can. This is why weve had to implement a number of revised restrictions. The number of visitors you can have at your home is now reduced to five. Outside the home, families and friends can meet in groups up to ten. This is how each and every member of the community can help: Stay safe while out in the community. Stay safe at home. And that means only seeing those you need to. Dont have big family gatherings and remember to keep your distance and maintain good hygiene. Dont share food or drinks. If you, or anyone in your family is feeling unwell stay at home. Dont visit friends and family. Dont go on holiday if you are unwell and dont go to work. Dont send your kids to school, childcare or kindergarten if they are unwell - stay home. And if you have symptoms, get tested. The vast majority of Victorians are doing the right thing, but this is a wake-up call and we cannot be complacent. Its up to all of us to keep our friends and families safe. For current information and updates on coronavirus (COVID-19) visit the Victorian Governments coronavirus website. If anyone in your family has any of the symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild, they should stay at home, seek advice and get tested. These symptoms include fever, chills or sweats, a cough, a sore throat, shortness of breath or runny nose, or loss of sense of smell or taste. For more information about where to get tested visit the getting tested for coronavirus web page. If youre concerned yourself or a family member has contracted the virus and need more information, please call the 24-hour coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398. Adj Clin Prof Brett Sutton Victorian Chief Health Officer

11.01.2022 Happy Halloween!! Our children in Room one this week had some sensory fun with shaving cream. If it’s one thing our little ones love it is getting messy and this experience gave children opportunity to play with a new texture but also use their fingers to manipulate the cream. Some of our older friends drew pictures and used additional resources such as eyes and snowballs to make snowmen and ghosts! #littlesaintselctraralgon #earlyeducation #traralgon #sensoryplay #notjustplay #littlesaints #playisthehighestformofresearch

06.01.2022 Dear Families, Kindergarten is an important step in childrens early education and for most children it builds the bridge to support their social and emotional wellbeing moving into their first year of school. We would like to advise that Kindergarten will resume as scheduled on Wednesday 15th April, following the announcement by the Victorian Government. Our service is continuing to operate throughout the pandemic and have put measures in place to support the health and safe...ty of our children, families and staff within the service. We continue to promote handwashing and good hygiene amongst the children and regular bleach and deep cleans are undertake of the rooms. We ask that when you arrive to Kinder that you maintain social distancing as best as possible with other families and our teaching staff, request that families only have one guardian dropping off and picking up their child and use the sanitiser provided upon entering and leaving the service. Should you choose to keep your child home from Kinder due to risks associated with COVD-19, please contact the service as soon as practicable. Warm Regards, Elisha Hoghton Centre Director
