24.01.2022 We are so humbled by the generosity and support of our Little Scholars families. Our Christmas Toy Appeal for Baby Give Back has seen over $10,000 worth of toys donated. We are absolutely beyond proud. Partnering with Baby Give Back and taking part in their Christmas drive for the second year running isn’t just a way for us to give back as a community, it’s instilling the concept of compassion and offering a helping hand into every little bright spark we have the honour of caring for.

20.01.2022 What a fantastic day for our Vacation Care schoolies at our Redland Bay campuses. Our Little Scholars went via ferry over to Coochiemudlo island for an island escape. What an adventure!!! They paddled in the lagoon on an outgoing tide, collected coral, shells and had a sand castle building competition. A wonderful picnic lunch (thanks chef Kylie!!!) before heading back and almost losing all our hats overboard out on the back deck of the ferry. We even beat the rain. So lucky to have this right in our backyard.

20.01.2022 To celebrate Halloween we wanted to share our recipe for Hocus Pocus Slime Super simple to make and so much fun!!!! Oh and remember the Saline Solution must have Boric Acid in it otherwise it won't work. LOL We are talking from experience. HOCUS POCUS HALLOWEEN SLIME INGREDIENTS... 1/2 cup Elmer’s Washable White School Glue 1 tbs Saline Solution 2 tbs Baking Soda 1/4 cup White Vinegar Food Coloring (green or any Halloween colors you want!) To say we are proud of Max is an understatement, we are proud of all our Little Scholars, but Max has been working especially hard! Max has come such a long way with his sensory learning abilities and has already achieved so much this year. Max wasn’t really interested in too many experiences and is now engaging and initiating learning experiences across many developmental areas. One... of the biggest goals Max’s mum had for him was to be more engaging with his friends, and Max is slowly beginning to sit with his friends all on his own. Max’s mum is BEYOND proud! Sam has been a Little Scholars employee for over 3 years and started at our Redland Bay campus as a Lead Educator, has worked as 2IC, Educational Leader and more recently completed the maternity contract as Manager of LS Stapylton. Sam has worked hard, offered to help at every point and lives & breathes the Little Scholars vision and ph...ilosophy. Sam is our 5th educator to work up the ranks to now have her own campus! 15.01.2022 Over the past couple of weeks, Senior Kindy at our Yatala campus have been obsessed with a story called A Boy Named Bear written by a local Brisbane author named Kaz Dalton. It focuses on inclusion and how not all children see the world the same way. Yatala had a special visit from Kaz who read her story to us! She explained to us that the book is written about her son Bear who has ASD and she even taught us some words in Auslan that we can use throughout our day! Kaz has ...written another amazing book called I Just Came To See Your Dog and she was kind enough to gift us a couple of copies! We’ve invited her back in a couple of weeks with her little superhero Bear as well as one of her puppies! A Boy Named Bear has created some beautiful conversations between the children about inclusion, that everyone learns differently and how even though we are all different, we’re all the same too! It would be an amazing resource for all studios to have on hand so if you would like a copy, please speak to your centre manager and we can organise it.

Here our Little Scholars at our Burleigh Campus are drawing their new school uniforms. We have sourced the uniforms from all of their future schools. You might think it’s just a drawing but every little bit helps with ensuring the children are very comfortable when they transition into Prep.

What you will need - 2 cups of plain flour ( and some extra if the mix isn’t right at the end) - 4tbs cream of tartar... - 1/2 cup of salt - 2 cups of boiling water - 1 cup of cooking oil - Add Cinnamon for the Christmas smell Simply mix all the ingredients together till it forms a dough. Add some more flour if the mix is too wet. Oh and don't skimp on the cinnamon. Make it rain cinnamon!!!!
