07.01.2022 | Meet our Team | Hi my name is Amanda , I am Diploma trained and I have been working in early childhood for 10 years. I have been with Little Smarties for 5 years. I enjoy travelling, being in the outdoors going on bush walks, watching movies and hanging out with friends and family. I am passionate about my job in early childhood and believe the best part about working with children is the meaningful relationship and bonds you create with them. The conversations you share a...nd the interactions and fun you engage in. I believe play is very important for a childs development. As they learn so much through interacting with both children and educators. I believe in hands on learning approach and providing opportunities for all children to explore, discover, create and imagine. I enjoy planning activities for childrens individual interests. As all children are different and unique in their own way. I believe that ongoing communication with families is important to create a relationship and work together to ensure childrens needs are being met at childcare as well as at home. I believe children have the right to a safe and caring environment. Children learn best in a calm and nurturing environment where they are free to explore and express them self.I enjoy watching children develop and grow through the years of caring and teaching them.

04.01.2022 | Childrens Artwork | Every time a childs brush hits the canvas or their pencil makes a line, theyre making a mark. Pictured is mark-making artwork created by children in the learning lions classroom. 02.01.2022 | Fire Drill Practice | Little Smarties Kemps Creek is committed to the ongoing safety of all children, educators, families and visitors that use our services. As part of our fire and emergency evacuation policy, the children and educators participated in a fire drill today.... This month it was Miss Amandas turn to conduct a fire drill scenario which she did a brilliant job at planning. Fire drills are vital for children to learn about the risks of fire and emergency scenarios and to practice responding to emergency situations with confidence. The children responded really well to our fire drill today and were so excited to hear miss Amandas voice throughout the whole service on the speakers in each classroom.

02.01.2022 This is such a wonderful example of how to respond when our children are struggling to manage their emotions... Stay right next to them. Reflect their feelings Hold the space for their emotions.... Offer connection and help them feel regulated (hug, playful game, a drink of water) Keep grounded and cool. The moment will pass. If we meet fire with fire then it could easily get out of control, often leaving feelings of disconnection, guilt and upset on both parts. So instead meet fire with water! This can help them to feel calm, regulated and comforted, which is what they need. Regulate first, relate and then reason later. I just really love the way this picture shows how to just be with instead of fix, solve, help or punish. Next time you have a difficult moment keep this image in your head... the emotions will pass. Its important that we stay as cool, calm and grounded as we can for them.

02.01.2022 Live in the moment. Start each day with gratitude. Laugh more. Create meaningful connections. Meditate.... Focus on the positive. Believe it will all fall into place. Stick to your goals. Be positive. Choose happiness. Choose love. Happy New Year!
