25.01.2022 We had such a great time at Cohunu Koala Park yesterday! The weather was absolutely perfect and we got to catch up with our old friends Miss A and Mr J!!! The children got to experience riding on a miniature train to see lots of animals. We learned all their different names and got to feed the wallabies, kangaroos and deer some yummy popcorn.... The children got the perfect chance to practice being gentle, quiet and slow, so they dont scare the animals they are feeding.

25.01.2022 Look at those lionesses pacing hungrily! Theyre staring down the lioness on the other side who just got fed

24.01.2022 Yesterday we went to Cohunu koala park to see the wildlife animals with Sarah's Tiny Tigers The weather was absolutely beautiful for the day and the animals were out and about and active for all the children to see! Most were being just fed, so they were really in a good mood We got to feed the wallabies popcorn and pat them too . The children learned to be gentle and patient when approaching the animals, so that they feel safe around us.. thus promoting empathy for oth...er living things. After lunch, we threw away our rubbish and made sure the area was clean, which showed respect for the environment.

23.01.2022 Parents, please be vigilant and have symptoms and any mysterious spots checked out before sending your kids to daycare (or yourself to work). Its spreading awfully close to us now and we need to work together to keep it at bay.

23.01.2022 Its a bit hot!!! But still here!!! Come on down and buy some treats!!!!

22.01.2022 Due to Lockdown, only children of essential workers are able to still attend care, but parents will not be entering the premises. All centre walk throughs will also be put on hold until the Lockdown is lifted. All measures are being put into place to create a safe environment for the children and myself. Hand sanitizers and handwashing practices are in high gear, so lets all work together to beat this!

21.01.2022 What fun we had at chipmunks today!!! And it was made even more fun when we had 2 of our old friends join us for almost a mini reunion!!! Miss H and Mr J!!! How we have missed you both

20.01.2022 Getting into the Christmas spirit! Carols playing in the background, dancing happening, and we are all still learning Today we did a sensory activity with shaving cream and coloured ice blocks. This activity was planned to help the children explore different textures and also encourage them to be adventurous . Having other children join in makes them all feel comfortable and confident.... if they can do it, so can I

20.01.2022 A trip to Kmart to find gifts for the Kmart wishing tree. This gives me the opportunity to talk to the children about giving to others. They both got to choose the items they wanted to gift to the tree.... Mr. O wanted to get the electronic sound machine for a little boy makes loud noise! while Miss.H chose a unicorn so the little girl can cuddle it!

18.01.2022 #crateimagination provided a crate full of goodies for the children. This is something I’m trying out for the next few months to enhance the program at my service. One of my goals is to be more sustainable, and this is one way I can do it with my resources. Instead of buying them and keeping, these resources are loaned to us for a month, and then swapped at the end for something new based on the children’s interests. The activities meet all the national quality standards and ...most of all, keep the children even more engaged. Sometimes we as educators need a little help to think outside the box to keep it interesting for the children, as well as ourselves. This month we had lots of construction ( due to seeing lots of diggers next to my home), so we got construction as the main theme... but gardening, painting, play dough, and much more have also been included! Can’t wait to see what else we can dig up this month

18.01.2022 Yay!!! With this new phase coming up, excursions will slowly come back into our routine. All precautions will be taken, as childrens safety is my priority. But I am so excited to start taking the children out again

17.01.2022 For book week I encouraged the children to bring in their favourite book to share with their friends Miss E brought in Funny Zoo Day which was a lovely link to our planned excursion to the Zoo today!! It was such a beautiful day for it, that a lot of the animals also felt like snoozing in the sun... But we ended the day with the lionesses coming right up to the window pacing away as they were hungry, and the meerkats came right out because they were also being fed! So all was not lost!!! All in all, the children had a great day, and in honour of book week, we went into the store and chose a new book for our library

16.01.2022 A bit late... but here are some photos of the children painting their special Fathers Day picture frames! They were able to express themselves creatively and each frame looked completely different We also did a mini photo shoot to create the word DAD

A definite favourite and we shall be back again!!!

14.01.2022 Today we went to Little Land! The children had the best time ever! This place had a lot of different role playing areas from an office, to a grocery store, to a hairdresser, and so much more!!! This place offered a lot of opportunities for the children to use their imagination and it was so nice to see what they knew and how they applied real life experiences into their play :) ... Definitely a place to go again!!!

14.01.2022 Working on all of our gross motor skills! Climbing, balancing and jumping. We are also cooperating together to build a super tall tower, and helping each other on the equipment. 13.01.2022 First time taking these guys to Little Land last week! They were so excited to see the play space and could not wait to get started!! I can safely say that the supermarket was their absolute favourite. They continuously shopped and pushed those trolleys. This is why I have now also started to take them food shopping with me, and letting them choose fruit etc to put into the trolley ... The builders corner was also a favourite, which was very popular with Mr.E as he loves to help his granddad build things! Miss.E also loved the fire engine and playing in the supermarket

The children had an absolute blast taking the train up One of the children had family members who are volunteer firefighters, so I decided to take them up to see a fire truck up close and personal. They also got a chance to dress up in the gear, and see a fire pole up close and personal ... What a great outing!!!!!

08.01.2022 Excursions play an integral part to our program. The children (and parents) absolutely love it when they hear we are going out, and it is the first thing they ask when they come to the center where we going today Sarah? Going out allows the children to expand on their environment, and it also introduces them to so many conversational topics that we may never have at home. I was soooo happy to hear restrictions had lifted and we could once again go out... with all proper pr...eventatives!! The children were thrilled!!!!!
