24.01.2022 The clinic may be closed for the Christmas and New Year break but I am still contactable if you need me. Call or SMS the clinic on 0401 839 072 or email [email protected] and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I hope you all have a wonderful break and look forward to seeing your smiling faces again from Tuesday 12th January 2021. ... ~Dr Emily

24.01.2022 I love this analogy. Especially for those after school meltdowns.

23.01.2022 Have you taken your child to see a chiropractor or would you consider it? Please help parents continue to have the option to choose chiropractic care for their families by completing this short survey. Follow this link:... https://engage.vic.gov.au/chiropractic-spinal-care-children Submissions close 5pm Friday 21 June. https://www.facebook.com/AusChiros/videos/2217737451606925/UzpfSTc3NTI4MDM2NjoxMDE2MTk0MzQyMjIyMDM2Nw/

23.01.2022 This is a fantastic video to show how germs spread. Let’s keep washing those hands and stop touching our faces. I’d love some of this glow powder to do a don’t touch your face challenge How often do you touch your face?

22.01.2022 If you happened to watch the story on Sunday night here is a statement from the Australian Chiropractic Association. This segment was incredibly biased - representatives from Chiropractic Australia were also interviewed but their segments werent aired, nor was the snippet where John Cunningham also said he had seen nothing dangerous in the clinic he observed. Please know that we always have our patients safety and care at heart and we do not use high velocity low amplitude adjusting of children under 5.

22.01.2022 We are still open. After last nights cabinet meeting which closed down several non-essential services we can announce we are still open to support you structurally and emotionally during this time. We have spaced out appointments to ensure people are not waiting in the waiting room. We ask that only patients with an appointment attend, or a child attends with a parent or guardian only wherever possible to reduce the number of people in the clinic. ... Hand sanitiser is available on arrival and departure. Linen is changed after each patient and the treatment table underneath is also cleaned with alcohol based sanitiser. Surfaces are wiped down with alcohol based cleaning products after each patient including the treatment table, all chairs, book cases, tables, reception desk, eftpos machine and door handles. Pens are single use only or BYO pen. Diffusers are on all day to combat any airborne particles. The treatment room is sprayed with air sanitiser after each patient leaves the room. If you or anyone in your family has a fever, cough or a sore throat, has returned from overseas in the last 14 days or have had contact with anyone with COVID-19 we ask that you reschedule. Missed appointment fees will not be charged for COVID-19 related rescheduled appointments. Please do not bring your friends and any unnecessary people along to your appointment. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this time. Emily Petherbridge

19.01.2022 Movement is key to a healthier life - and it can be as simple as adding 30 squats to your day. Every little bit helps. Check out this great public health initiative!

18.01.2022 The Safer Care Victoria (SCV) independent review on chiropractic spinal manipulation of children under 12 is complete and the results speak for themselves. DID YOU KNOW: In Australia there has never been a serious adverse event reported in the literature or in insurance claims involving the care of a child by a chiropractor. This is despite the fact that there have been an estimated 12-15 million visits by children to chiropractors over the last 20 years. Of the 21,824 s...ubmissions 98% said that chiropractic care helped their child - indicating improvement after treatment. 99.1% indicated that they were either "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with information provided by the chiropractor about the benefits of treatment. 68.9% reported that they had also consulted with their GP about the problem. When did you or your children last see your chiropractor? To book an appointment to have you or your children assessed call or sms 0401 839 072. 17.01.2022 Did you get the Coles minis? Heres a great idea to teach kids value and maths - but also good just for a laugh.

17.01.2022 This emergency is breaking my heart. I was evacuated twice during my holiday and watching the devastation is heartbreaking while friends defend their properties and help others save theirs. I am part of the WANDS group who are making emergency kits across Australia and working with the RFS, CFA and fire and rescue to deliver these kits to the areas that need them and also to the evacuation centers. We have made over 6000 so far but need support and donations to continue. If... you have any hotel soaps, conditioners, shampoo, toothbrushes, individually wrapped tea bags or anything on the list we would love your donation. I will be in the office on Wednesday from 10am for any drop offs and if you want to help with kit assembly Ill let you know about packing times. If you arent local but would love to help I can put you in touch with someone in your area who is also helping.

16.01.2022 Looking for Christmas presents for little ones? They love colour and sensory based toys, but what they choose isn't always what you think they will!

15.01.2022 Language development is repeatedly shown to improve with an increase in the number of words spoken at home. Besides reading and language development, reading books and chatting together also encourages turn taking and social development. "A study published this week in Pediatrics found that toddlers with parents who spend lots of time listening and chatting with them are more likely to have better language skills and higher IQs a decade later than youngsters left hanging in silence. 14.01.2022 How well are you really washing your hands? To help prevent the spread of corona virus (COVID-19) it is important that we all take a little extra time to make sure we wash our hands regularly and thoroughly to prevent the spread of this virus with our friends, family, co workers and the general public. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PmVJQUCm4E

13.01.2022 Congratulations to all our patients who have completed their HSC. Always be proud of your achievements and dont compare yourself to others. I know how hard you all worked. Congratulations! Also know that your results or ATAR are not the be all and end all. They helped me to get into uni but Ive never been asked my results since. There are also many other ways to get into uni. I was also never asked my uni marks for any of my jobs. ... People connect with and employ you based on who you are, your social skills, your connection, your eagerness to learn and help and your attitude. Not your marks on a test paper. (Funnily enough Ive never needed to use Pythagoras Theorem in real life ) Congratulations again and good luck with your future plans!

13.01.2022 "Higher screen time viewing at 2 and 3 years of age was associated with children's delays in meeting developmental milestones at 3 and 5 years of age, respectively," she said. "This study shows that, when used in excess, screen time can have consequences for children's development. Parents can think of screens like they do giving junk food to their kids: In small doses, it's OK, but in excess, it has consequences." https://edition-m.cnn.com//screen-time-child-de/index.html

13.01.2022 Dr Emily Petherbridge (Chiropractor) B.Sc (Chiro) (Macq) M. 12.01.2022 We know that play based learning is the best way for kids to learn. New research shows that playing with blocks helps develop mathematics and spatial awareness skills. Put down the iPads and pull out some good old fashioned blocks. Who can build the tallest tower?

12.01.2022 Ever wondered what the POP is when you see your chiro or crack your knuckles? No it’s not putting bones into place. It’s an air bubble popping. This is a fantastic article examining the POP and that it actually doesn’t matter if the joint POPs or not - the neurological effect is similar. The best treatment combines passive care with a therapist with active care in the form of home rehabilitation exercises. ... We use both at Little Spines. Our aim is to get you back on your feet as fast as possible, and help prevent your injuries from coming back. 08.01.2022 Emotions are so powerful! Thats why I love getting to the root cause of your health concerns. Some times emotions can have physiological effects. I love to use Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) to identify the underlying emotional issue - some of which present with physical symptoms - and helping to clear that so you can return to the best version of you! Still skeptical? Watch this video from Kerwin Rae where he discusses the periorbital dermatitis he was suffering from and how an emotional release made a huge difference both physically and emotionally.

08.01.2022 Talking with babies is key to their language development and is now linking to IQ later in life.

07.01.2022 Mind blown I thought this was a sided preference at first but then they place toys on the other side. Has anyone tried this or willing to re test the theory?

06.01.2022 It's not something that often gets discussed, but many women suffer from incontinence post child birth. Here's some simple exercises you can do at home to improve your pelvis floor muscles. (And have a little laugh while you learn!)

05.01.2022 Hand washing is key to good personal hygiene and helps to prevent the spread of disease. Take a moment to refresh this simple task we do several times a day without thinking to ensure your hand washing is effective. Image Source: WHO - World Health Organisation

04.01.2022 I had a great chat with a little bubba today. Just by copying the noises they make we can communicate using serve and return communication well before babies can talk. I can't understand a word either mum or bubb is saying - and that doesn't matter. They can still have an amazing connection, bond, and practice their serve and return communication and laugh a little along the way too!

04.01.2022 Im just gonna leave this here.... Its all about balance right?

03.01.2022 Why is hand washing technique SO important? Here is a quick demonstration of the difference proper technique makes. Imagine the paint is areas covered by soap / sanitiser. So far there aren't any effective cures or preventative medications for COVID-19. However, handwashing has been shown to be a highly effective way of reducing the spread of COVID-19.

02.01.2022 Babies and children connect so much more to a person, a real face and sensory input than to a TV. Socially connecting and meaningful relationships help their brains to grow

02.01.2022 I see the dynamic between parents and teenagers frequently in the office (and I remember my own struggles!). Developmentally and neurologically the teenage period is an interesting time with its own set of behaviors and challenges.

01.01.2022 How do we explain what is happening in the world today when kids start asking questions? This is a great video for children and adults to explain the recent events.
