When choosing care for your child, family day care isnt just the right choice its the natural one. How is it similar to centre based child care? Family day care provides early childhood education and care services for children across Australia. Family day care operates under the same National Quality Framework (NQF) as other forms of child care; incorporating National Regulations, National Quality Standards educational frameworks and an assessment and ratings process. Parents are eligible for the same Federal Government Child Care Subsidy. How is it different to other forms of child care? Your childs education and care is provided by an individual educator who is an early childhood education and care professional, operating within their own home. Educators work with small groups of no more than four children under school age* at any one time. Educators work with an approved service that carries out regular visits to monitor the childrens individual development and provide support.

07.01.2022 I have been given the opportunity to further my career and do something I envisioned as one of my long term goals, this fabulous opportunity has presented Itself and for the last 2 months I have been in training and working with fellow educators and there families, I have taken on a role of a field Mentor working within a fantastic Family Daycare Scheme Excellence In Care. This was a hard decision to make and not one I have made lightly, as I didnt want to let anyone down, I... didnt want to let my families feel left In the lurch and I also had to say to myself, what Is the best decision for me as well as my family. I have absolutely loved the last 10 years working as an educator In Family Daycare and I found It far more rewarding than the previous 10 years In a centre, I loved the fact that It was a far more personal way to do what I absolutely love to do and that Is educate children. I have looked after so many children whom Ive always found hard to say goodbye too, either they went of to big school or for other various reasons they no longer required care, so It goes without saying that I will absolutely miss each and everyone of your children. And to you as parents I thankyou for your loyalty, flexibility and Understanding throughout your time at Little Squirts, as Is It isnt always easy being a one man band and raising a family of your own at the same time, where things would arise such as Illness, a sports carnival, a day off or even a need to finish early, you were always willing to accommodate and that was awesome. I love seeing the kids that shine at this time of year - a big high heartfelt round of applause to you. You so deserve it for the effort you have put in.... But this message is for the kids that didnt get called up for any of the above... I SEE YOU. To the child that conquered their fear of heights, or sleeping in the dark, or riding without training wheels or sleeping out for the night for the first time this year, I SEE YOU To the child that managed to resolve more conflict than they started this year, to the child that learnt to say the impossible; "Im sorry", and to the child that walked away from the fighting instead of getting involved, I SEE YOU To the child for whom school is a huge struggle, you get up everyday and you go, I SEE YOU To the child that battled all year with the maths, or reading, or concentration, or speaking out in class, or learning their words, but persevered anyway, I SEE YOU To the child that found the kindness in their heart reach out in anyway to another person or to an animal in need or in pain, I SEE YOU To the child that learnt to give and to share for the first time this year and even found joy in these, I SEE YOU To the child that battles to make friends and to be social, you made new friends this year and for that, I SEE YOU To the child who wanted so much to please, but was just out of sight of an adult who perhaps was too busy or too distracted, I SEE YOU To the child who lost a friend or a loved one this year, but carried on everyday bravely even though their heart ached, I SEE YOU To the brave parents that try everyday to do the best for their kids, I SEE YOU. May you and your children revel in small but significant victories that you have both experienced this year, as I will with my beautiful children. For every year there is progress and growth, we dont need a podium or handshake or a hall of applause to be seen. I SEE YOU.
